[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I'm trying to decide whether to stay in SF for a few days before or after the conference there in January. On the plus side, it'll give me some time to explore SF and see friends there without having to fit it in between and around interviews and talks. And I think I might be able to get a cheaper flight if I leave SF on Monday or Tuesday rather than Saturday. On the minus side, it'll be more hotel nights and restaurant meals to pay for. But I do have enough to cover it, as long as I don't spend anything ridiculous, and I know that I could really use a few days off, and I'm getting a bit stir-crazy from being in DC for so long.

Cute kitties.

Why are plane tickets about $100 more expensive than when I checked a few days ago?

All is well that ends in pizza.

Maybe because the air traffic control system went apeshit today due to a 40-year-old network card in Denver breaking down, causing a sudden flood of new air travel bookings, which bumped the price?

or because it's a few days closer to the holidays.

Maybe both.

Hmm. Why would being closer to the holidays make the ticket prices higher, if I'm booking for the middle of January?

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oooh, neat. 90% chance that fare will drop by at least $50 in the next seven days.

All is well that ends in pizza.

From our daily paper:

FARIBAULT — The last two times someone broke out the front windows of Town and Rural Mercantile, the culprits failed to make entry.

The third time was the charm, but the person responsible not only left with no cash — he may have left a clue or two.

“A wallet was found at the scene,” Faribault Police Chief Dan Collins confirmed Wednesday morning.

“Now we go talk to the person to see why their wallet was at the scene,” he said.

Bring a sign, chief...

"Here's your sign"

Oh, and there are drops of blood around the broken window.

How ever will they prove the culprit?
