[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I think I decided to apply to a postdoc position at Cambridge. I know that there's no way I'm qualified to get it, but I also know that I'll regret it if I don't apply.

Also, decided to apply to West Point, and decided not to apply to the Citadel. Also ruled out a few places because I tried google mapping them and there was not a single town or city I'd ever heard of within 50 miles. I know that I would not do well in a place like that.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Also, decided to apply to West Point, and decided not to apply to the Citadel.

Those both sound like excellent choices. And, since I don't say it enough, good luck with the whole insane process.

Thanks, amych.

Oh! Can anyone tell me anything about Ft. Myers, Florida? For some reason, I can't find anything helpful online.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

I think I decided to apply to a postdoc position at Cambridge.

Cambridge the UK university? Very exciting. Good luck with all the applications!

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

I've flown into Ft Myers a bunch of times on my way to Sanibel Island (I'm going again at the end of December, actually), but I've never spend any time there outside of the airport. They have a cool looking science museum that we'll probably take Dylan to if it's rainy one day while we're down there.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Oooh! Go Cambridge!

That would be awesome.

Yep. Thanks!

Thanks, Jess.

One of the job application sites tells you how many times employers have looked at your profile. They don't tell you which employer, though. This is not good for mildly-obsessive people like me. Somebody looked at my profile around 4 this afternoon, and I don't know who! And I want to know who!

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

Oooh, Cambridge! If'n you get it, can I come sleep in your doorway for a week? I'll clean and organize!

Our wings are not tired.

Oh! Can anyone tell me anything about Ft. Myers, Florida? For some reason, I can't find anything helpful online.

My brother lives there and I have parents and a sister within 20 miles. The city has grown at an obscene rate in recent years which lead to a big real estate boom and bust. In general terms the city people migrate to SE Florida while the rural types go to SW Florida. It isn't horrible and there are things to do as well as a good airport. It sure isn't DC or NYC though. I think if you were Florida bound the SE corner has a lot more to offer.

Good luck with the applications! Your efforts despite all the obstacles (glares at adviser) have been most impressive.
