"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I see: I figured there was a good reason for it.

Sparky, I too have no book groups currently, and I can't believe it's been over 4 years now. Going from 3 down to none at all has made me v sad and lonely. But they were a hard act to follow. If your profile addy (ooh, lookit Solange with the lingo!) is good, I'll send D's email to you.

The Polytechnic High School on Frederick Street, across from Kezar Stadium?

Yes, the same one. Home football games were played at Kezar, before the fancy remodel. The girls' gym was the one on the east side, the boys' was on the west. The main body of the school is now condos. The stoners hung out on Carl Street and the thugs on Frederick. The best thing I can say about high school is that at least it wasn't junior high.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Hi lurkers!

Dude! Any idea when you'll be down this way again? Around the holidays, maybe? WE SHALL MAKE PLANS.

Probably not for Christmas; too much family drama surrounding my sister's wedding. But maybe early next year? I've been more or less planning on going to NC to see People, so I might roll that in.

I carried a watermelon.

Hello Buffistas,

I'm Sying which is an internet pseud., female, 34 and live in the southern part of The Netherlands. I've been a lurker since forever. There was a time once when I would've delurked but it was sometime during S5/6 of BtVS and S3 of Angel and I didn't want to be *that* first-time poster. You know, the "No, really, I am fan! But wow, do they suck at the moment or what?!" kind. Besides, I'd already been part of the Bitterness thread at TWoP and got tired of my own whining. Later on, personal circumstances, lack of time and the weirdness of delurking after such a long time (it gets scarier, the longer you wait but it also becomes weird to lurk for so long) were my excuses.

For the past years my only lasting new TV love has been Bones, which is the Bridget Jones to my Mark Darcy: it's not perfect at all, but I like it very much. Just as it is. Other shows couldn't hold my interest or they were cancelled. There are a few things I watch on Dutch TV, but I don't expect anyone here is familiar with those for obvious reasons. I always check out BBC's costume dramas and never ever anything with Jim Carrey.

I listen to all types of music. Music-wise, Bruce Springsteen has been the love of my life, but - because there are always exceptions to the rule - not his last two albums. Others I listen to lately are Richard Hawley, Johnny Cash, Fleet Foxes, sixties music, rock and I could go on and on and on. But for the past few years I've mostly listened to KX Radio which is a Dutch internet radio station where young and upcoming and older, already famous Dutch DJ's work for free to play whatever music they want to play.

I love books, as is the Buffista-way, though I've been on an easy read streak. Nothing too serious, gritty, ugly or emotional, alas.

I lurk in Buffy and Angel, Procedurals, Music, Jossverse, Arts & Crafts and Soaps a.k.a. Minearverse, Literary, and skip and skim or try to keep up with Boxed Set, Bitches and Natter. Yes, by the time I am caught up on the interwebs I don't even have have time to post anymore.

Now, getting to the most important point. Serial comma: yes. Cilantro: having had only the dried leaves and powder variety, yes. Olives: eh. The smell and taste of warm milk, grilled cheese, and garlic: nauseating.
