I do belong to an online community that greets its newbies by saying "Welcome, scumbag!" but I'll pass on this. Hi...don't forget to stop by Great Write if you are so inclined. And I don't know how much you know/like fic...I think b.org introduced it to me.

Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
Hello Ice, and also Abby, Ouise and other semi-lurkers.
I have never supported you in e-mail. I have supported some of you in bookstores.
This quote, she make me laugh.
My original intention when I registered was to get involved in the conversation, and I have actually delurked for a random post or two before. It never sticks due to shyness, doubts about what I'd add to the conversation [...]
Ah, I thought that for ages. But posting is so much more fun than lurking. Go on. Post. Postpostpostpostpost. Oh, and welcome!
Hi, Ice! Hi, Abby!
Hi, any other lurkers out there!!
If it makes you feel any better, I've had to listen to strangers chanting "Ice Ice Baby" at odd moments for the last 13 years. About half the people who meet my dog feel compelled to sing. Next time I name a pet, I'll consider the earworm possibilities first.
She's a white German shepherd, and "Ice" came out of "police." Depending on how you feel about Sting and company, maybe you can get a higher class of earworm out of that.
I vote for Ice (and Abby!) to stay delurked.
Not sure about groping. Will you still respect me tomorrow?
Groping is strictly consensual.
I do not mind the occasional nibble as long as you avoid ticklish spots.
I have been known to nibble. See: lj name being smonsterbite, sort of like Hulk Smash.
I'd also like to add to my bio that I delurked with a Leonard Cohen filk. And I keep amyth informed of all things Buffista, for those who remember her.
No! You are all sucking me in! Stop sucking!
Erika, I'm originally from New Jersey. If you say, "Welcome, scumbag" to me, I may assume we're related.
I can't read fanfic because it gets mixed up with canon in my memory-deficient brain and then I don't remember what's true to the original story any more, so those are the least tempting b.org posts. But I lurk in the writing thread to remind myself that I really do want to finish that damn novel I've been swearing I'd write for ages now.
Ice,
of course now I have to ask you, since you are from NJ "which exit?!"
of course now I have to ask you, since you are from NJ "which exit?!"
Me, too! I'm 135, by the way. Spent most of my formative years there. Well, not *on* the Parkway.
Hi! smonster told me about this, and started whispering, "post, post, post" from the other side of the cubicle wall, so I am doing her bidding.
I'm amyth, I lurked on TT for a while, de-lurked on WX, and posted regularly on the Phoenix Board. There have been many debates about the pronunciation of my name, like with amych. I stopped posting regularly a few years ago, because my time management skills stink, and I don't really lurk, because it makes me want to post. Luckily, I share a cubicle wall with smonster, so she keeps me in the loop.
smonster and I shared a house until recently, and now I live next door to Calli, because we NC-istas like to stick together. I live pretty near amych, too, so that we can confuse people further about the fact that there are two of us. (Though that's less confusing now that I'm not around.) I am also part of TEAM AIMEE/AMY, and we have a master plan. I have a poodle named Lulu who has her own master plan.
I will probably pop in on the F2F thread about twice a year, when I'm getting ready to go up to NYC, or when people start talking seriously about the F2F, because I still go to those when I can. Other than that, if I need to know, smonster tells me, and I'm still in touch with many of you on facebook.
Much love for you all!
