Thrive to spite them

My Mom knows about the Buffistas, I've told her about all about y'all and showed her pictures (especially of the cutie head Buffista sprog). When I went to the first F2F it wasn't weird because I'd actually gone to meet some people online in DC before. That online community fell apart (partly because the forum owner got pissy and flounced off with the website).

When TT was not going to be an option was I really worried that things would fall apart but luckily there were plans and we've grown.

Also that other online forum looked a lot like the way TT and now b.org does so I had a really hard time getting used to other formats. So I was really glad we stuck with this.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

I can always claim I met Sox at Sparky's wedding! Which is also where I met Sparky.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Buffistas hung out with my mom and stepdad in a whole other state, while I was back home in Ohio! My mom and stepdad were in Vermont on vacation, and megan walker and Trudy were also in Vermont, and they all planned to meet up at my brother's restaurant (Trudy had met my mom when she previously visited Cincinnati, so it wasn't a totally out-of-the-blue thing).

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Because it's the Buffistas, I knew it wouldn't be long before someone mentioned the other way.

And risk pregnancy ?

All part of my elaborate white slavery axe murder plan. Just FYI.

Compassionately intolerant

Well, I didn't know I was dyslexic until really late.

Skipping a couple dozen to claim Seska as my sistah! When I was a kid, there was a different technical term for it...'stupid.'

No joke, it wasn't until Cher started talking about dyslexia that anybody put 2 and 3 together to look into what caused my slow reading, mixing up letters, leaving out portions of sentences, etc.

One college professor, bless him, used to drop my bluebooks, ungraded, on my desk with a time when I was required to verbally tell him what I knew.

Most other instructors just shook their heads and tsked, "How can someone so smart be so..."

In a way, I'm glad. I'm not sure I would have taken to the accommodations my faux son uses now. Plus, I work really hard to figure things out.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

So says Miss "Gave up everything to bring Rock and Roll to the Needy".

Hah!

I usually just say "my friends" when sourcing some piece of arcane knowledge I've gleaned from here. The SO knows when I preface with "My Friend So&So" that I mean someone from the boards that he may have never heard of.

But at this point, he does know about lots of you. And I always show him Noah & Grace videos. He's much with the Noah & Grace love, as is right and proper.

And he's a geek too, with his own invisible friends, so it's not an issue with him.
