Oh, smacked in the noggin with a 2x4 wrapped in velvet. Yeah, that's what it felt like.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec (can't remember if JZ was with him)

She was. When I had the food poisoning for my book reading.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Buffistas who have stayed at the House Of Reason: Perkins, SA, Cass, Deb Grabien, PixKristen, Fay ... I'm forgetting people. I'm sure that I am.

Pete and I have stayed with Drew & Kristen (and want to come visit you two SOON!), Cass, Deb, Tom Scola ... I think that's it.

I miss people. If I didn't have the next two weekends already booked, I'd stamp my feet and talk Pete into doing a road-trip to PDX so I could see Cass and SA and erin. (Even though we're going there on Oct. 29th. THAT'S NOT SOON ENOUGH.)

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

Even though we're going there on Oct. 29th.

It is very soon though!

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

All this talk is making me miss in-person Buffistaness. I don't suppose anyone wants to come watch some fencing in Des Moines this weekend?

Yes, but if they went sooner, they could also see The Scola.

That's true. We should put that sentence in bold sparkly text.

Why don't you come fencing in PDX, and then you can see Scola too!

See? SEE?!

But sadly, upcoming weekends = totally booked. In very fun ways, but still, booked.

The best women's saber in the world is to be found in PDX (as is my coach's coach), so it's always a serious temptation. But the US Fencing Association says that this weekend's tournament is to be in Iowa.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

We have points on every continent (except Antarctica).

We should actively recruit someone at one of the research stations. They'd have time for it, right? I mean, what else could they be doing for recreation?

Besides that.

I know! the Olympic fencers trained here! I learned that somewhere along the way and thought of you. "Now," I thought in my head, "how can I make amych come here and do stuff here. She likes fencing! And me! It's win-win!"
