"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

It is very soon though!

Yes, but if they went sooner, they could also see The Scola.

S to the A -- using they/them pronouns!

That's true. We should put that sentence in bold sparkly text.

I don't suppose anyone wants to come watch some fencing in Des Moines this weekend?

Why don't you come fencing in PDX, and then you can see Scola too!

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Yes, but if they went sooner, they could also see The Scola.

See? SEE?!

But sadly, upcoming weekends = totally booked. In very fun ways, but still, booked.

Now let us crush something soft and watch it fountain blood. That is a girlish thing to want to do, yes?

Why don't you come fencing in PDX, and then you can see Scola too!

The best women's saber in the world is to be found in PDX (as is my coach's coach), so it's always a serious temptation. But the US Fencing Association says that this weekend's tournament is to be in Iowa.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

We have points on every continent (except Antarctica).

We should actively recruit someone at one of the research stations. They'd have time for it, right? I mean, what else could they be doing for recreation?

Besides that.

I know! the Olympic fencers trained here! I learned that somewhere along the way and thought of you. "Now," I thought in my head, "how can I make amych come here and do stuff here. She likes fencing! And me! It's win-win!"

Nana korobi, ya oki. (Fall down seven times, stand up eight.) ~Yuzuru Hanyu/Japanese proverb

::gropes Amy, because she can and misses having her on her lap::

I've only hosted two Buffistae, so far (Madison isn't that big dot on the map): Ginger and Nicole, but I did get to play with Vortex and smonster when they were in town for various conventions. That's always nice! And a couple of WisCons ago I got to spend time with Theo, 'Suela, and Nutty.

And I've been hosted by a plethora of Buffistae in return: Nicole, Perkins, brenda, ChiKat, Beverly, Ginger and aurelia (I think.)

I've cohabited with brenda, Perkins and Suzi at various offical and semifo F2Fs.

Our wings are not tired.

I've hosted (at my old place) Anne W. Suzi stayed with me at my new place. Megan Walker was my first houseguest in my new place - and she brought me flowers! Amy and I shared a hotel room in Vegas. I've stayed with Kristin and Drew. Visited erikaj in her condo in AZ. Got fed an amazing meal at Fran's Philly house(with the bonus of a fantastic massage given by d!).

We're all getting played with, babe. -Weird Barbie

Pete and I have stayed with Drew & Kristen (and want to come visit you two SOON!)
t points and points and points again

This, please.

I know I will embarrass myself terribly if I try to list everyone I've visited or had visit me, because I'm bound to forget someone I love to pieces and then feel like an utter idiot for forgetting them.

But...leaving ND out of the mix since that's an obvious one...

People who have stayed with me:
billytea, Tom Scola, Cass, Trudy, Matt H, megan walker, Jilli & Pete, Jon B., Victor & thessely, Jessica, omnis, javachik, Sean K., laga, meara, Hil, Debet (I'm pretty sure?), Kate P....

People I've stayed with:
Jilli & Pete, Cass, Matt & Beth, Jon B. & FAQ Wife, Victor & thessely, megan walker, laga, Juliana (CHAOS!, Kate P.)...

If I add people who I've either visited or had visit but didn't spend the night, I'd add DX, sj, Vortex, Trudy, Kat, Allyson, Suzi, Theo, Nutty, Deb, Sean, Aims & MM, vw, Emily, Frank, erin_obscure, Plei & DH, JZ & Hec, P-C, Jessica & DH, Maria, Tom & Nora, libkitty, Barb & DH, Nilly (on two coasts during her travels), and everyone I've seen at F2F (which I'm not counting for the purposes of this list).

I luvres my Buffistas.

And I'm certain I'm forgetting people. I am lame that way.

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

As a matter of interest, are there any Americans here opposed to the serial comma? I don't use it; it's simply not the standard in Australia. From my perspective it's just part of the list of American freakiness, like the attachment to Imperial measurements (despite the national mythology being tied up in an act of revolt against the British Empire), a random loss of vowels, a willingness to use peanut butter for anything short of a personal lubricant, an apparent loss of fine motor skills in your left hand whenever you pick up a fork, and the governership of Illinois. (As you will note, this list of American freakiness does indeed include the serial comma.)
