You'll fight, and you'll shag, and you'll hate each other till it makes you quiver, but you'll never be friends.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I'm Daniel C. Jensen, which is my real name, and the only reason I didn't use my usual dcjensen when we started buffistas.org is that I was in a take-ownership-of-my-opinions mood at the time. Plus? It has 13 letters and balances symmetrically.

I have been seriously thinking of going back to dcjensen lately, and maybe by the time you read this that will be my name, and all will be confusing.

I avoided Buffy the TV show at first because despite bad reviews, I had liked some elements of the movie, and didn't know the original writer was involved with the TV show.

After a bit I found the Buffy newsgroup and had a grand time reading and eventually posting, sometimes in very opinionated ways. Got into a few kerfuffles (One memorable one was over chivalry) and eventually got used to the whole skimming life.

Eventually I found the Hellmouth Cafe chat room, which led me to meeting Askye (And later Windsparrow.) who convinced me to stop by WX and meet a neat group of people.

I started spending a lot of time at WX and when Windsparrow joined us from the HMC, started a whole flirting thing that let back and forth between WX (and later here) and the HMC, and eventually led to my throwing caution to the wind in 2005 and flying out to meet her in Arizona.

We hit it off, and now live in Minnesota together with the two feline persons known as Harvey and Sammie. Harvey has adopted me as primary skritcher, and Sammie isn't alarmed by my presence all that often.

I don't post as much as I used to, but I still try to keep up in Bitches and a few other threads, so you might see me there.

Also? Milady Windsparrow is very wise and beautiful.

Hi lurkers!

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

Hardly a de-lurking, but I am Erin Nelson. AFAIK, Erin the second :) Chose erin_obscure because my email is via obscure.org. Originally from Richmond, VA., I made my way to San Diego for grad school (where i first met omnis_audis) where i got myself a MFA in Stage Management. Did the SM thing (professionally, headsets, no whips) for years. Eventually that moved me 100 miles north to Costa Mesa where i worked with NoiseDesign. He introduced me to the lovely Pix_Kristin and after (i think) a Thanksgiving with several other Buffistas, i was lured online. Not that long ago, i may have the highest number around! It was a rather easy sell. Discovered Buffy on my own (and loved it from the first episode i saw...."Fool for Love".) Then watched Angel just 'cuz. Was introduced to Firefly the week before Serenity debuted in cinemas and loved all of that. I have never met anything Joss has a hand in that i did not enjoy (or at least appreciate.)

I don't believe in lurking, mostly based on many many years on usenet. There's no point in lurking on alt.gothic! So i dove right in and chime in on any topic that seems Relevant to My Interests.

Quit Theatre and moved to Portland, OR where i now work for 911. I live with my two black cats and am currently trying to buy my first home.

I have always leaned towards the serial comma, but being raised by and English Professor and a HS teacher with a Masters in Grammar, that was beaten out of me. Double spacing after periods was similarly beaten into me (not literally.) I like it, give a little breathing room after the end of a thought. Heck, i frequently find myself tossing in three or four spaces after periods but that is more likely my crazy horrible typing skills.

Olives=bitter and salty and ick. Cilantro=lovely in moderation.

Sporadically active in Bitches, i sometimes read natter but generally can't keep up with both.

eta: wow, this board really does condense all post-period spaces to a single space. Wierd!

"We have trust issues." Mylar

I still love this thread more than my latest pair of red pumps! Welcome, lurkers, one and all.

And since we're declaring, serial commas are good. Olives are of the devil. Until just a minute ago, I'd no idea that two spaces after a period was even questioned as The Thing To Do. I'll not be changing thanks to my 9th grade 5th period typing class with very strict nuns. I've never had Frenet, but I'm not a big drinker so I think it would be very much not my thing. I fully support others digging on it. Cilantro? I can take it or leave it. And the Kats amongst the Buffistas rock the party all night long.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

this board really does condense all post-period spaces to a single space.

Not this board--HTML. All the young kids are doing it these days. Unless you force it with non-breaking spaces, the default is to compress any multiple spaces into one.
