beth! I served a guy the other week who thinks he might know you two - he's in the cafe all the time, he says. (He was wearing a shirt with your city name on it.)
Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
ok
I might !
and I love baby and kid stories. and cat and dog stories.
I am so lurky everywhere these days. Except Twitter. I seem to spend a lot of time on Twitter. But I don't like using my phone to write posts of any length and I don't do any social media on my work machine. So.
Same-old, same-old. Underemployed and will be unemployed or at least out of this job at the end of November. Kiddo is in middle school. We got another cat last December. Whee?
Oh! It occurs to me that I do have a bit of a change from last year. Still living the same place, same roommate, occasional transient foster kittens, still single...but now my job is no travel and entirely work from home! So I've been...traveling for fun and working from friends houses for a few days or a week because "not traveling" made me stir crazy. So yeah...
'Sup.
Aims aka Aimee aka Starborn aka The Empress.
I'm in my third year of teaching at the same school, though this year the school has changed to an International Baccalaureate primary program so I'm going through all sorts of new and awesome training. The Buffistas are responsible for helping me finish my degree and graduating. I love teaching. This is my first year as a 2nd grade teacher - the previous two years I taught first grade. I use ita's tiara during my small group/assessment times. It's known as the Take It Elsewhere Tiara to my kids - I am not to be bothered when it's atop my pretty little head.
I'm 10 days away from being a divorcee.
My daughter, The Princess aka Em aka The Punk is a few weeks shy of being 12 and is in 7th grade, which is crazy. She has become my mini-me in looks and lack of coordination. She is totally amazing and I still can't believe I made her. She still sleeps with the OMGWTFPanda that B.org got her the day after she was born.
Life is. I'm trying to get used to it.
Hello all! Too many to say hello to everyone of you, but congrats Jars! Parenthood and esp babyhood are definitely worth celebrating!
Also worth celebrating is a year of sobriety, so congrats Strix! You deserve kudos
I am, well, in the same semi-dilapidated state I've been in for a few years now. Since 2013 & my sister's passing. I hope I make forward progress soon, but I guess I'll take forward progress ever and at all, if it comes.
It is so wonderful to see Jars and strix and Amy and Kate and Glamcookie and Aims and... and... I feel like I should have prefaced that with "Romper Bomper Stomper Boo..."
I see many of you on FB, but it's so good to get the summaries of the important things here.
...and lord, I can't believe how grown-up so many Buffistas babies are! Cognitive dissonance. But M is 14 1/2 now, and doing really well, and is still just fun to be around. Things have been so, so much better with D's ex since we sold the house, and she had another baby. So that's also a positive!
Beth, I hear you on the needing to do more health-focused things. D and I both need to get on it -- I need to haul my achy self back to yoga, and D, who's always been super-skinny, went on Celexa this year and gained 30 pounds. I think he looks good, but he feels really awkward in his new body.
I'll put some pics of Tiny on FB, because I don't belong to any photosharing accounts anymore. Pets really are some of the best therapy there is.
It is so wonderful to see Jars and strix and Amy and Kate and Glamcookie and Aims and...
Echoed! So good to see you all and hear about your lives.
Isn't it?
