Aww...
I'm, what, maybe 23? I've just been interviewed by Salon about a Xena text-based RPG I play. I'm about to get offered a job by the gaming company based on the strength of that interview. I am currently grinding away as an inventory control specialist at a Japanese pneumatics factory, but I have no idea that the musician who died last year is about to totally disrupt my entire life and send me into the desert to teach music to kids with my husband of 5 years. I play bass in an Appalachian/Celtic band. I wish I could have a dog, but the tiny studio apartment where I live won't permit it. I am pretty stupid about a lot of things but I don't know it yet.
OT: Liese, you know there's a new movie about to come out or possibly just out about RM's life, right?
I think ND qualifies as a lurker at this point, he's so busy.
I'm about to turn 30 (Winter 2000). I started reading the board, because poster MarthaC told me I should check it out. I am a little over a year into a job with a non-profit I am getting bored with and I have been watching Buffy for a bit, not sure how long. I am reading on TT an there is this crazy long way way way too involved discussion about bookshelves and home libraries and geez, I thought I was coming to read about Buffy and how much we love the show. These people talk A LOT and so damn opinionated. Not sure it is the place for me.
Maybe I'll give it a shot.
msbelle, you were the person who grilled me about who I was and what I was up to when I first appeared on TT. Made me like you.
Oh hey, I'm 25 and am freaking out that I can't watch the season finale of Season 3 Buffy that got yanked because of Columbine. However, I hear there's this great thing called the internet so I will stay late at work and use Yahoo search to find a link to a pirated Canadian version! Oh, and look, there's a bunch of people over here talking about it.
I also have a boyfriend who still has a live in girlfriend and is 15 years older than me that tells me that I'll never find anyone better than him.
Hey, that TomW guy is pretty hilarious!
Hey, that TomW guy is pretty hilarious!
I will testify to that. Miss you guys like WHOA!!!
Granted, even if you were still in Salem it wouldn't matter at this point. However, hilariously, Salem is an easier stop off after work than Cambridge, Somerville, etc. just cause it's on the right train line. If they only get that fucking parking garage finished so it's not an extra ten minute walk to get downtown. I can't believe they are letting this happen two Halloweens in a row. Morons.
After writing down post numbers of how far I had read (a completist even then), I finally got myself an account.
I did that, too!
I'm totally a night-owl, theatre freelancer. (I'm just looking for info on this show I just watched. The ads didn't interest me, but the two-parter I just saw was really cool! Oh look, here's a link to Joss Whedon talking about... cancellation? Damn. What is this place? FAQ. Wait, what? BBOC? A chart about leather pants? These people are funny. Let's try the Literary link. Holy shit, these people are using words I have to look up! I like it. I think I'll keep reading.)
OT: Epic - yup. It's out. It's called Ragamuffin and it's on Netflix and whatnot. We actually participated in the making of it. All the audiences you see of Rich's are actually audiences of Mitch McVicker & the SO. The actor "opened" for them on their tour. Which somewhat sucked because sometimes the audience was supposed to not like Rich, and so there was then a wonky vibe by the time they actually played their real gig! Haha. And sometimes the movie guys took forever and jacked with the schedule. But they're good guys and we're all buddies now.
It's a good movie, but a tough watch. It's an incomplete story, of course, but the director made the best choices he could.
