I've had a pretty good year. Work's going well, my family seems happy and healthy, and my friends are terrific. But I'm sad about living so far from my family, so I'm looking into possibly moving to northern lower Michigan (Traverse City area, for those familiar with MI). I might be able to work remotely, and three hours from family would beat the heck out of 14 hours. Of course, then I'd be sad about living so far from my NC friends. Eh, we'll see how it goes.

It's been a year since my Mom died. I've been unemployed for over 6 months so far, and I'm on my Unemployment extension. The good news is that my portion of my Mom's estate has come in, so I've got enough money in reserve so that I feel like I can breathe again.

I think im probably a lurker now. For a long time I read but didn't post but lately I haven't been reading much. But I do see lots of you on FB. And I'm thinking about reinvigorating my DW account since I have stuff I want to say but not on FB.

Anyway...my law office is growing and that keeps me super busy. Just hired a 4th person part time this week. I love what I do and it included a trip to El. Paso/Juarez this week. The rest of my life is super busy with the kids. Ellie is now 8, Frisco is almost6 and Sammy is almost 2. I miss you guys a lot.

I love seeing your posts about your office, Stephanie. You all seem so happy to be working together, and it makes me glad to see you happy.

Hey, long time no see!

I'm glad to see the deadline for this was extended. I've been in such deep cover not-even-lurking mode that I forgot all about the October delurking event.

Why I've dropped out of sight: started a new job last November that takes a leetle bit more of my time than the old one. Moved across the hall in my division where previously I'd been one of the many program associate worker drones and over into the Adult Career and Special Student Services office as the head of the customer service staff and manager of office operations. Lots more duties as a supervisor, and the customer service contact (which I loathe, but do it because it's my job), really wipes me out at the end of the day. I tend to lurk in Fan Fiction and a few of the TV threads, when I do lurk.

I also acquired a roommate last year (my best friend of 28 years), so I spend a lot more time with her, watching TV and going on long weekend walks to stay fit. I'm not on the internet much at all anymore. I hang out on tumblr to some moderate degree and I remember to check LJ/DW about once every two weeks.

Still, I think of you all and try to keep an eye on Beep Me and Press so I keep abreast of all the big things in all ya all's lives. Know that the ~ma is always flowing and I cherish you all as part of my life for the past 11 years. All hail the Buffistas!
