Zoe: Yeah? Thought you'd get land crazy that long in port. Wash: Probably, but I've been sane a long while now, and change is good.

an overblown libretto and a sumptuous score/ could never contain the contradictions I adore

Delurking to say hi.

I'm working at an after-school program, and have a small business selling vintage books at Eastern Market and at an antique mall in Laurel. I'm hoping to open a vintage clothing store sometime next year. This year I got serious about finishing short stories and submitting them places, and I have stories coming out in Strange Horizons and Daily Science Fiction.

Always Anti-fascist!

Hi, I'm here all the time(although a little bit less since I gave up talking about being a novelist for, you know, actual noveling.) Feel free to send me stories about your town's grisly murders, as half my facebook wall is people sending me stories like "Gun Runner Nabbed in Baltimore Flea Market", which isn't half as weird as them making me all verklempt and Sally-Field-at-The Oscars about somebody giving me what I like.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Woot Holli!

Also woot erika for writing. I need to kick myself into doing that one of these days.

A dress should be tight enough to show you're a woman but loose enough to flee from zombies. — Ginger

I can attest that erika is indeed writing, and lo, it is fun and good. And some dry-ass lines that made me snicker good.

I gotta (in my copious free time) start working on some fiction. Maybe a short.

Shit, I'm nattering. Sorry.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

I have stories coming out in Strange Horizons and Daily Science Fiction

That's awesome, Holli!

I haven't posted here yet this year, so I may as well. I drop in and out of lurky status depending on what I have going on. As far as I know, I'm the only St. Louis Buffista at the moment. I used to be out in Baltimore until about five years ago, but I relocated back to my hometown after getting laid off.

I'm currently working at a financial services company, which means I've been white-knuckling the past few years a bit. The company is doing well, and there haven't been any layoffs, but still... Anyhow, I'm enjoying my work very much.

I enjoy cooking, gardening, knitting, writing, and weight lifting. I also write, but haven't had much luck in venturing past fanfic as of yet.

These days, I hang out in the Supernatural thread, and occasionally Bitches and Natter. I've been known to drop by Boxed Set, Literary, and the fic threads as well.

Holli, that's awesome! I'm glad you're doing well.

Mercy is the mark of a great man. [beat] Guess I'm just a good man. [beat] I'm alright.

Hi, kind folkses. I haven't had much time to lurk here of late, but things have settled for me after about five years of changing addresses. Stability, I haz it. I'm still not employed full-time because, guess what, the SF Bay Area has plenty of web designers. But life has treated me well.

Off to look at the music thread.
