Same job, same husband, same pets, same house, but we did get our front yard redone by our favorite HGTV show this year! Started doing Pilates twice a week and am slowly getting in better shape. Went on a great week-long motorcycle trip around California. Put in a vegetable garden, which went well, except for the attack of the Killer Giant Mutant Zucchini, but we shall not speak of that. Got to indulge my fangirlish heart and saw Crowded House twice and Neil Finn solo in a 200-seat theater. Have not finished my new play, and hope to soon, or I will have to stop calling myself a writer. Love my Buffistas.
Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
I am still working as an academic librarian, but I started a blog in my subdiscipline that's gotten some really good attention and I applied for a fancy job that even if offered I probably wouldn't take. I have the same 2 kids: Dillo is now 4 and in PreK and Casper is 7 and in 2nd grade and is reading The Golly Sisters Go West to her dad as I type! Gained one cat, 6 month old Simon, who after 3 weeks has still not reached equilibrium with 10 year old Penny and it's stressing me out. Started leading a Girl Scout Troop which is stressing me out. Three members of the family have had a total of 5 crowns this year and it's cost us $6000 and it's stressing me out. Possibly I should look into stress management. Mr. flea's contract is up in 10 months so when we do this next year either 1) he'll have a job here and we'll be carrying on as now 2) he'll have a job somewhere else and we will have done a lot of work between now and then moving and such and I'll be stressed about covering the mortgage on the house we stupidly bought right before the economy tanked or 3) he won't have a job and we'll be really stressed out.
Um, I think I need to drink a glass of wine and go to bed.
I'm working a temp job as a phone survey taker. I mostly annoy police chiefs and sheriffs, but lately I've been bugging school superintendents and technology supervisors.
I've been living in my sister's basement for almost 2 years. Well, I'm moving this month into another basement but one I will be paying for. Yay?
I just looked at my original post and there have been a few changes.
I am officially single. Boy George, the fish, had a nice burial at sea...well, into the water system. I received a promotion at work though my workload and responsibilities don't change.
I still haven't had a muffuletta.
Nothing really has changed from original post. Still gothy, still running Gothic Charm School, still married to Pete the Adorable Charmingly Surly Brit. Clovis is still plotting to take over the world.

Given the job the humans are doing, I'm tempted to become a minion.

Some days, I fear that his plan, and that Clovis is way more evil and crafty than even *I* give him credit for.
Hi all! My original post is still mostly true and not a lot has changed in my life, except I'm married now to my beloved NoiseDesign and we no longer have our sweet older dog but do have a cute, mischievous puppy. Oh, and I've changed my name yet again. KristinT->Kristin->PixKristin->Pix. Yeah. All me. I think I'm tied with Aimee, starborn, Jamie Stemple Aims!
I went back to see if I posted an introductory post, which I did, though it was short on personal detail (shocking for me, I know). But it led me to skim through the first 1,000 or so posts, in which there was a spectacular slap fight over the serial comma. (Of course I was a part of it. I have no shame. Or manners.)
Poor lurkers.
Original post sarameg "Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail." Oct 1, 2009 7:11:13 pm PDT I've only become more and more infatuated with my house and my neighborhood. Epic blizzards OMGWTF led me to meeting most of my neighbors when we cleared the streets at least twice, which resulted in a new circle of friends, (to the point where my keys are strewn about the hood and I have most of their keys) saturday dates to the farmer's market with them, wine nights, margarita nights, the Stoop...etc. My now-probably 18 year old diabetic cat is hanging on, building his winter coat. I've started experimenting with walking Loki (the 2ish cat) on a very purple harness. It's...going.
Still getting the hang of home ownership: ice dams, what downtown looks like from my roof after a storm, leaf blockages, LEAVES EVERYWHERE oh, and I am all but 9 spindles away from stripping 80 years worth of paint off my banister. Then I get to sand, lift stain and stain again and seal. Yay me?
All in all, I'm me, just more talky meat in the meatworld.
