Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

But not an asshook.

Isn't this thread about *not* scaring the lurkers?

(I kid b/c I love)

LURKERS! THERE ARE NO ASSHOOKS HERE!!!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

because the rest of you are all really entertaining imaginary friends I made up, right?

No, you are all actors in the epic opera I'm directing. Except ND, who is doing sound.

Our wings are not tired.

Wow, what a neat thread. I love reading all of these bios! And since I am more than a thousand posts behind in Natter and Bitches, I shall say hello.

I'm javachik, and I used to hang on TT in the 90s, and came across many of you there. However, yet another Amie brought me here, by way of another place that shall go unnamed. I think I've been posting here a couple of years, usually in Natter/Bitches/GWW/F2F.

I live en solo in Oakland, CA just turned 40, work for a biotech, have 2 dogs, and got the travel bug fairly late in life and have been making up for lost time ever since. I'm posting from Barcelona right now.

ETA: Juliana, I've thought about you so much on this trip. Especially when I spent hours talking with Gonzalo, the bartender at Le Meridien Ra on the coast. He was adorable, but better yet, was an artiste when it came to cocktails. He had a bunch of home made tinctures that he shared with me and Steve and we all talked chemisty and concoctions until the wee hours. How I would have loved for you to be there too.

Ann, that's a ferret.

the rest of you are all really entertaining imaginary friends I made up, right?

I can't speak for anyone else. But I'm pretty sure I'm imaginary.

I'm posting from Barcelona right now.

And I'll bet a shiny nickle IFG.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Hi. I’m megan, but not really.

And yet, I am not a Stephanie, Sara(h), Heather, or Amy/Aimée either.

I'm half-American/half-French, originally from Connecticut and currently living in San Francisco. In my grad school days, when I discovered TT (courtesy of msbelle), I lived between NYC and Paris (and I miss being able to say that). Due to dial-up and school, I lurked for years before becoming a regular poster, although I did attend the first NY F2F at Fiona’s and actually delurked in TT just before the mass exodus. But then I wandered in the desert for more than 40 days and eventually came back just as Phoenix was starting up. After a few years as an assistant professor, I left the ivory tower to work for The Man. I now edit French and Italian textbooks, along with the occasional film project.

I like German-style strategy games, bourbon, and Keanu Reeves. Not necessarily in that order.

I typically hang out in Movies, Non-Fiction, and a few of the other TV threads. I try to keep up in Natter, but work of late has made that difficult (see above re: The Man). I also follow Literary, Music, and Technology, but most of it goes over my head. I think it’s safe to say I’m also the de facto French translator of the board.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Not to brag, but I would bet lots of folding money I have the best toys.

I've got 30+ years of DC character dolls in my basement. IJS.
