I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I'm posting from Barcelona right now.

And I'll bet a shiny nickle IFG.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I am the one.

The only.

The coolest kid around town.

"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

Hi. I’m megan, but not really.

And yet, I am not a Stephanie, Sara(h), Heather, or Amy/Aimée either.

I'm half-American/half-French, originally from Connecticut and currently living in San Francisco. In my grad school days, when I discovered TT (courtesy of msbelle), I lived between NYC and Paris (and I miss being able to say that). Due to dial-up and school, I lurked for years before becoming a regular poster, although I did attend the first NY F2F at Fiona’s and actually delurked in TT just before the mass exodus. But then I wandered in the desert for more than 40 days and eventually came back just as Phoenix was starting up. After a few years as an assistant professor, I left the ivory tower to work for The Man. I now edit French and Italian textbooks, along with the occasional film project.

I like German-style strategy games, bourbon, and Keanu Reeves. Not necessarily in that order.

I typically hang out in Movies, Non-Fiction, and a few of the other TV threads. I try to keep up in Natter, but work of late has made that difficult (see above re: The Man). I also follow Literary, Music, and Technology, but most of it goes over my head. I think it’s safe to say I’m also the de facto French translator of the board.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

Not to brag, but I would bet lots of folding money I have the best toys.

I've got 30+ years of DC character dolls in my basement. IJS.

I'm another Laura. I don't know how long I've been lurking--awhile, but I love to read the show threads (current favorite shows include "Supernatural," "Mad Men," "Project Runway," and "Top Chef.") I think I posted once, possibly twice. As you can see, I have a great memory.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA where I was born but not raised. I was raised in Carlsbad, California. I'm 39, I live with my husband, our two-year old son, and two cats. I'm a legal project editor, and I'm very fortunate to be able to work from home.

I am for the serial comma.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Welcome. LW aka Other Laura!
