Hi Helena, welcome! are you the same Helena that has written Smallville fanfic?
'Conviction (1)'
Delurking 1: Because we don't always check our e-mail.
Hello Helena! Yay for delurking! Good to see your font.
Pete is indeed adorable.
Thanks so much for the warm welcome! Vortex, I'm sorry to say I haven't written any Smallville fic, so thats not me.
I forgot to say before, Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Canadians out there!
Oh, what a fun thread to see! I have been not-lurking for some weeks so had no idea this was here.
So, uh, hello. I first found the buffistas I think somewhere around 2001, which is when I jumped into online communities generally, and not long after I had discovered Buffy. I've posted a few times, back in the day - I think in Wonderfall and Firefly threads - but have been kinda shy to jump in, and also kinda scared of even trying to keep up with you folks.
Back when I first lurked and posted, I was living up in Northern Canada, in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. But 3 years ago I moved to the far more prosaic location of Ottawa, Ontario, and I have to confess that I got so swamped with crazy new job that I wasn't even lurking at all, for quite a long time. But the buffistas stayed on my favourites, and recently I've started peeking in again - most recently to discover the Dollhouse commentary.
Other personal details: I am 40 years old, lesbian, single, 2 cats (named, erm, Sophie. And Max). Lawyer in the federal government. Currently experimenting with a TV free lifestyle and thus reading lots of books, which is good.
Never had a muffaletta, like cilantro just fine but can live without it, not big on olives but they're starting to grow on me, and don't have particularly strong feelings about the serial comma.
And that Pete person seems kinda adorable, yeah.
And just to serial post, cause why not when you haven't posted in 5 years: Happy Thanksgiving back to Helena and the other Canadians! And a special wave to Abby, who I have actually met back when we posted together on a different, other board!
Hey, I got to the end!
Welcome, Sophie Max! Or, welcome back as I think I've seen you around before. And welcome to the rest of you lurkers poking your heads into this shiny new thread. Don't get spooked and dash back into your lurker holes or we will all be doomed to six more weeks of . . . something
Anyway, I am -t, which probably was some sort of vi joke way back when I first adopted it but has become my nom de internet since. I would change it to something less challenging to quote and use in direct address, but I can't imagine what and people do seem to manage all right. I'm on the map, Craigslist says I am in the SF East Bay, my therapist says no, not really. I am whimsical and inconsistent in my use of punctuation, have been known to chew on raw cilantro, enjoy muffalettas in moderation and olives rather more gluttonously. I feel like I have been lurky since I stopped having an office job that demanded distraction - I have trouble with skipping and am not good at skimming so I tend to think responses really loudly several days after a conversation has happened rather than actually posting. But in a lot of threads, so there's that. Married, no job, no kids, two cats (both calico), one dog, just switched from Comcast Cable to DirecTV, and I think I might like gauchos but I'm not sure.
Good god, -t introduced the gaucho question. Is Aimee around?
Welcome, Sophie and Helena!
Hello, Sophie!
Hurrah! More actual lurker-type people! Welcome Sophie-Max and Helena! (Helena, did you write rather excellent fanfic? Or is that someone else who coincidentally happened to share that excellent nom de plume?)
Hi Sophie Max! Serial posting for delurking is most excellent.
