I'd rather stay home and watch television. It's often funnier than killing stuff.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

Hey, I got to the end!

Welcome, Sophie Max! Or, welcome back as I think I've seen you around before. And welcome to the rest of you lurkers poking your heads into this shiny new thread. Don't get spooked and dash back into your lurker holes or we will all be doomed to six more weeks of . . . something

Anyway, I am -t, which probably was some sort of vi joke way back when I first adopted it but has become my nom de internet since. I would change it to something less challenging to quote and use in direct address, but I can't imagine what and people do seem to manage all right. I'm on the map, Craigslist says I am in the SF East Bay, my therapist says no, not really. I am whimsical and inconsistent in my use of punctuation, have been known to chew on raw cilantro, enjoy muffalettas in moderation and olives rather more gluttonously. I feel like I have been lurky since I stopped having an office job that demanded distraction - I have trouble with skipping and am not good at skimming so I tend to think responses really loudly several days after a conversation has happened rather than actually posting. But in a lot of threads, so there's that. Married, no job, no kids, two cats (both calico), one dog, just switched from Comcast Cable to DirecTV, and I think I might like gauchos but I'm not sure.

Because books.

Good god, -t introduced the gaucho question. Is Aimee around?

Welcome, Sophie and Helena!

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Hello, Sophie!

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Hurrah! More actual lurker-type people! Welcome Sophie-Max and Helena! (Helena, did you write rather excellent fanfic? Or is that someone else who coincidentally happened to share that excellent nom de plume?)

Our wings are not tired.

Hi Sophie Max! Serial posting for delurking is most excellent.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Hi, Sophie and Helen!

We need a St. Crispin's Day-type speech for those hesitating to delurk.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

Spike's will! I pray thee, just one lurker more.
By Joss, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my scone;
It frets me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things tittilate my desires.
And if it be a sin to covet olives,
I am the most offending soul alive.
Yes, faith, my friends, wish yet a man from England.
God's peace! I would not miss this great delurking
For one man more methinks would share with me
In the best home I have. O, do still wish one more!
And still proclaim it, 'ffistas, through the net,
That he which hath no stomach for olives,
Let him yet come; his passport shall be made,
And muffulettas given not to him;
We would still wish for that man's company
That fears his welcome should he speak with us.
This day is call'd the feast of Cilantro.
He that delurks this day, and finds new home,
Will stand a tip-toe when this day is nam'd,
And rouse him at the name of Cilantro.
He that shall live this day, and see old age,
Will yearly on the vigil feast his neighbours,
And say 'To-morrow is Saint Cilantro.'
Then will he strip his shirt to show a corset,
And say 'This gift I got on Delurk day.'
Old fen forget; yet all shall be forgot,
But he'll remember, with advantages,
What feats he did that day. Then shall our names,
Familiar in his mouth as household words-
ita the Great, JZ and Polter-Cow,
Smonster and amych, Jilli and Allyson
Be in their fernet cups freshly rememb'red.
This story shall the good man teach his son;
And fair October shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of buggers
For he to-day that shares his name with me
Shall be a bugger; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition;
And gentlemen in England now-a-bed
Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here,
And hold their manhoods tight whiles any speaks
That delurked here upon Delurking Day.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

"...And so it was written, that on every October 12th since then, the disparate and devoted Clan Buffista do, singly or in small groups or great congress, do celebrate Cilantro Day..."

ETA: or, you know, Delurking Day, depending on the edting whims of the Previous Poster.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

Vortex, I'm sorry to say I haven't written any Smallville fic, so thats not me.

No worries! it's a good name, so I suspected that it might not be you. Glad to have you, fic or no.
