I'm assuming the "real" Temperance Brennan, Kathy Reichs, isn't profoundly broken when it comes to common cultural awareness and how people interact and that her books stand a better chance of success. I might put one on hold at the library to see.
The book Tempe Brennan is basically nothing like Bones, aside from working in the same field. I don't know what Kathy Reichs is like, but I'm willing to be it's more like book Brennana.
