Those poor kids. They're really not going to do well in the world when they grow up, they're being raised to be completely shunned by the rest of society. I think most kids growing up now don't really "get" racism or homophobia in the same way my generation does. Or, I could be writing this from my safe enclave of Los Angeles, in my blue state Hollyweird Librul comfort.
Friends of ours were relating the story of their 8 year old daughter watching the President's speech. Her mom is a middle school social studies teacher so she said she got 6 "refusals" to watch the video. Their daughter was telling them about the kids that didn't watch in her class and she basically said, "Mom, it was the dumb kids that didn't watch."
Bless.
I don't have the smallpox vaccination but I had a mole removed on my upper arm a few years ago and the scar looks very much like a vaccination scar.
Holy shit.
And a hot damn.
Sounds like they're going to try and lower the boom on Serena--seems they've already fined her the tournament/tour max and are meeting to see if they can fine her more. Looks like she freaked the shit out of that linesperson.
3 M in a T was 3 Movies in a Trilogy.
I am off to go meet Vonnie!
Looks like she freaked the shit out of that linesperson.
I would have been intimidated.
I would have been intimidated.
As far as I could tell the initial call was a total non-call, and I can see Serena getting upset about it, but that in no way excuses verbal abuse.
I just found that I actually had it on tape, and that's exactly what McEnroe was saying. Also that Clijsters was clearly beating her, but who wants to win like that?
Happy Birthday Billytea!
Mazel Tov, Nilly!
I am really tired of the asshat that I have to work with today. For whatever reason, we're the only two at the theatre tonight (there should be three). First, he walks up to me and says "the chairs in my theatre are all screwed up." and I said "well, aren't you going to fix them?" He says "well, they're missing numbers and out of order and stuff. I'll just tell the ushers not to pay attention to the numbers and count"
Then he says "one of the ushers asked me what the dress code is. I said that I didn't know" (he's worked here for at least 6 months). Now, he's downstairs at the box office flirting with the girl who works here. so, if something happens that i have to deal with, the lobby is empty. Which is not really a big deal, but since we tend to have patrons wandering about who need direction (or to be told not to go into closed doors), it's a tiny issue.
