And I wonder, what possible catastrophe came crashing down from heaven and brought this dashing stranger to tears?

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Matilda's birthday is my mom's birthday. And her mom, my good grandma, was Grace Matilda, so I get all kinds of nice reminders.

Huh. It just now occurred to me that there's a Buffista youngun with my bad grandma's name too. But I never make that association. So yay for that too. It's still a pretty name.

Art Crawl!!!

Happy Birthday, P-C!

Brenda - did your friend include some sort of content warning? Because that album sounds like it needs one.

Ooh! More random name stuff. I went shoe shopping today to find something to go with the suit I had to buy yesterday for a meeting on Monday (client meeting, and nothing I own remotely fits.) So I find exactly what I want at the Aldo outlet, for insanely cheap, and I turn them over and the style name: [link]

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ooh, those shoes are hot! Only the best from Scola.

If the heels were shorter, I would totally order some. I have a real itch to buy new shoes, but realize I should wait until I start wearing the fall/winter shoes I already have again.

They were like $17 too.

Are you around tomorrow? I'm firming up plans for lunch with Tom and Leah in Tom's 'hood.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

It's the Brooklyn Book Festival, Jesse!

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Those shoes are great.

I bought a trash truck for Noah to play with. How stoked is he? He's super excited to keep dumping the trash in the truck's hopper.

Oh man! I've been feeling kind of punky, so basically took today as a sick day, which means I'm hoping tomorrow I can get up and get all of my errands and shit done. Boooo.

“Not dead yet!”

Speaking of birthdays, the birthday fairy was smiling down on me. My mother not only liked all of her gifts, she downright loved a couple of them.

Thank all the gods and little fishes because she's a bit bummed about our impending move. But even that I've managed to spin in a positive manner:

"Think of it this way, Mom-- you can get a direct flight from Miami to Seattle and you wind up spending less time on a plane than you do to get to Jax on the train or bus."

"I hadn't really thought of it that way, but you're right."
