“Not dead yet!”

Speaking of birthdays, the birthday fairy was smiling down on me. My mother not only liked all of her gifts, she downright loved a couple of them.

Thank all the gods and little fishes because she's a bit bummed about our impending move. But even that I've managed to spin in a positive manner:

"Think of it this way, Mom-- you can get a direct flight from Miami to Seattle and you wind up spending less time on a plane than you do to get to Jax on the train or bus."

"I hadn't really thought of it that way, but you're right."

Ooh, those shoes are hot! Only the best from Scola.

Those are nice. You do good shoes, Scola.

Nilly! Much happiness to you!

Nice shoes!

I'm having issues with most shoes out there these days- the toebox is too short. I hate toe cleavage, and I don't think I have abnormally long toes, so there must be a lot of it out there. Also? Not into the flats thing. I'm glad there is such a selection, because there is a place for flats. But I need some damned heels already.

Hit a milestone on the swim today, which makes me very very happy. Took a lot less time to hit that mark than I expected. Now to do it without resting will take a bit. Makes me pleased with my strength.

OK, serious laundry to do tonight.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Don't you have any errands in Brooklyn?

Heh. What are you guys planning? Let me see how I feel in the morning?

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Happy Birthday P-C!

So very excited and happy about the Nilly wedding.

Just woke up from my second nap of the day. I am so very gronked. The sun came out while I was asleep, which is a nice change though.

Lunch at Atlantic Chip Shop at 1. Book fair after for those with time. Last minute, I know.

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Lunch at Atlantic Chip Shop at 1

That terrible cry of longing you just heard? It was Pete's soul. I think the Chip Shop was the high point of the NYC trip for him.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Map of the shuttle sonic boom. I wonder what it normally looks like. That sure booms far north-south. Maybe it's usually east-west, or a steeper trajectory.

Hey! Flushing Meadows! Better not be raining no more.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

The sun came out while I was asleep, which is a nice change though.

I hate it when the sun goes down while I'm napping. It confuses me.

Happy birthday to Trudy and to P-C!
