I want to get an android phone when my contract comes up. Anyone know much about those?
I have the G1 phone, which was the first to use the android platform, and my Girl has the G2 Touch. I adore my G1, especially with its little pull-out qwerty keyboard. I have now synchronized my entire life via Google. I care not that this makes them the new evil consumerist we-run-the-universe corporation. I can remember my appointments again.
The Girl likes her G2 Touch, but gets frustrated with the fiddly virtual keyboard. I couldn't use one of those.
DJ, you're not alone: my BFF also has the power to make watches run slow; finally they just give up and stop.
I just hope my watch lives until the end of the year. I'm hoping for a trip to Disneyland so I can replace my Mickey. He has been my reliable friend for many years.
The iPhone is pretty bad, but I wonder if that's mitigated by the fact that I hardly ever use it as a phone?
From what I've read so far over there, yes. They recommend using a headset or texting, so that the phone's not an inch away from your skull when it's transmitting.
Yay! I needed something new to fret fruitlessly about!
Sorry.
Oh good lord. That made me think about my whole phone situation, and I realized that I've been texting more than I thought and paying more than I thought! Now I have a plan.

I love my Android G1. I can use it as a compass! I can check in for flights! I can sync multiple email accounts, use Google Maps to find directions and restaurants near me, surf the internets, add things to my Netflix queue, find movie times... but I admit that I'm biased.
My loathing for using my cellphone may just pay off, though I do have the thing activated and at my hip all through the workday.
Good to know about the G1.
Zen, that's my exact problem with watches (except digital, which I still think are a pretty neat idea).
My FaceBook status updates end up boring because I have to run them through the work-filter and the mom-filter.
I know! And mine are worse because there's also the conservative Christians who are my donors filter.
So pretty much I just post about food. Which I know is lame, but inoffensive.
I am ready for a new cellphone. Plus, my kiddoes have started texting me, so I need something better for that. Plus, my phone cost $5 over five years ago. So I'm probably a little behind technologically.

Hee.
I have an atomic tattoo!

My phone is on the safest list but now I'm worried about the boyfriend and his iPhone! He's on it all day on conference calls. I think he uses a headset though.
