Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

Sparky - insent.
Facebook is driving me crazy - people I unfriended months ago are showing up in my feed again! (Nothing political, thank goodness, just a judicious pruning of "Who the hell is this person again? Where do I know them from?" types.)
In Returning News - the suggestion at BoingBoing is that Caster Semenya was not informed of her (she identifies as female, so I'll use that pronoun) test results BEFORE they were published in the media.
I...have no words.
As a callback apparently he's also against vaccinations because they make you ill and let the government track you
My best employee believes that the government was behind 9/11, vaccines are evil, and pretty much any conspiracy theory you ever heard. And yet, a great worker so I do my @@ out of her sight. I have pointed out to her that if she is going to believe what she reads on the internet why not believe the 99.999% that say the opposite of what she buys into. Oh well.

I wish I could say I was surprised, but that is really un-fucking-acceptable.
Backflung, Aims. I'm happy to answer any questions I can or put you in touch with our grad students, who probably know a lot more than I do about the program.
She pointed out that the people who wouldn't hire her for that probably wouldn't hire her for her locks, either. Fair point?
Yes and no. People (particularly older people) can sometimes appreciate the desire to celebrate ethnicity, but have a negative image of tattoos. My mother was talking about a movement in her sorority to not allow anyone with a tattoo to join.
I'm hungry. I have a yogurt here, but... I don't have any spoons. I do, however, have a KFC plastic spork. Which I'm going to have to use.
The horror... the horror....
I think she's wrong to equate the tatt with the locks, but also that, depending on the specifics of the tattoo, hiding it when necessary probably isn't that big of a deal.
