Congratulations to the class of 1999. You all proved more or less adequate.

Shit's all sorts of different now.

(And Aimee's friend sounds awfully woo-woo and suspicious to me, as well. I mean...there's no thimerosal in most all the childhood vaccines now. Though there may be some in the H1N1 vaccines coming this fall. And there's no proof it causes autism at all. But even if they couldn't handle the mercury for some reason...it's not IN the vaccines anymore. So...why not GET them now?)

They don't believe that the vaccines *caused* the autism. Neither of their kids can process metals out of their system. Any metals, not just mercury. Lead, aluminum, copper, iron, etc. including the metals in the air and the metal in needles. The autism has nothing to do with why they haven't vaccinated their son yet. They haven't vaccinated him because of the allergic reation to the shots. They plan on vaccinating him before he starts school, but he's only 10 months old at this point. Their daughter is 2 1/2 and had all of her vaccinations up to 18 months.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I will never tire of Zeppelin based narratives. In Guy Maddin's book of essays he notes he keeps a list of the greatest Zeppelin themed movies.

Hec, you ever see The Assasination Bureau? The Zeppelin only comes in at the end (and sadly, the special effects are painfully of their day), but it's a fun movie.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

It's a trap!

OK, a lame joke, but I loves me some Admiral Ackbar.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

This is why we can't have nice blimps.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I just tried to talk my minion out of getting a tattoo on her wrist. I told her it's potentially a bad move for job interviews and etc. She pointed out that the people who wouldn't hire her for that probably wouldn't hire her for her locks, either. Fair point?

Also why velociraptors should not be allowed to smoke on Zeppelins....

Now I want to write an alternative history graphic novel about how all the big disasters from the sinking of the Titantic to the attack on Pearl Harbor were caused by a smoking velociraptor....

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

It's pretty easy to cover a wrist tattoo with long sleeves or a big watchband.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

That's what she said -- she'd be wearing a jacket anyway.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

unless she is in sales ... and those sales are to the military , a small tattoo probably isn't a worry. Unless it is someone's name.
