You two carried me through that war. Now I need you to carry me just a little bit further. If you can.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Liv was excited about preschool this morning.

Allyson, putting the wee ones on a bus kills me--they're so tiny and cute and excited to be riding.

Mine always want to go outside a half an hour early. Which I don't mind in this weather but once winter gets here, I try to stay inside as long as possible.

Our wings are not tired.

Isn't it hotter in August, so it would make sense to start later, not earlier?

Exactly. It makes no sense at all. In my experience it is always hotter in August than June. What is silliest is that I keep thinking the school board will be sense making.

The boys took the bus when they were in elementary school, but HS starts too early. We leave at 7am. They would have to get out of here by 6:30 to get to the bus stop in time. They take the bus home. I pity the drivers. The kids are obnoxious on the bus.

Also, I am loving all the off to school pictures. I'll have to see if I can get a picture of the big boys off to school tomorrow.

Tell them we need pictures, Laura!

Wait, is this real-world child support, where the money goes to buy food for the kids, or MRA fantasyland child support where the women just buy Ferraris and cocaine? -Jessica

His little sister threw a fit, she wanted to go to school, too. She put on her backpack to wait with him at the stop.

When he left without her, she cried, "Mummy! I have my pack pack! I have my pack pack!"

Because a backpack is like a special school bus pass, you see.

Ima buy her a telescope for her birthday.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Liv was excited about preschool this morning.

Who is that big girl with the backpack? It can't be Liv, even if she does look like Cashmere.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

My sister has to drive her stepdaughter to her highschool by 6:00 am. She has a special early-morning class that starts that early--oy! Then, for the next few weeks, she has to drive her stepson to his school. They're moving to the new district at the end of September, and the school said he could start the school year there since he'd be moving within the first six weeks of beginning of term. When they do move, he'll be riding the bus, so that's one less person Sis has to ferry around.

I know my own heart and understand my fellow man. But I am made unlike anyone I have ever met. I dare to say I am like no one in the whole world. - Anne Lister

Liv is adorable!

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

I may try to get a pic of mac tomorrow. I tend not to do first day of school pics in an effort to downplay things.

His teacher already called me(per my request since we did not know his dismissal time), and he is no longer in the extra schooltime required extended day, which means I do not think they are classifying him as an ESL or ELL student anymore. His quick learning is such a mixed blessing.

I also called the school counselor and she is setting up a meeting for myself, her and the teacher for early next week. None of them know about the events of the summer. should be fun.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Would it suck to have the name Dick Hardstaff?

Your choice of verb there was intended to make me snorfle Mountain Dew, right?

I've spent the last 20 minutes laughing hysterically at a cat drinking water off his own head, and a cat flailing about in a half-inch of bathtub water, and a bunch of ridiculous signs. Thank you. I needed that.

Good luck to everyone with children starting school! Even when it's easy, it's got to be kinda hard.
