Home schooling? You know, it's not just for scary religious people anymore.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

And don't you often go to work at ass o'clock in the morning, too??

Not today, though. The meeting is so late because colleagues in Japan will be on it.

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

We always started mid-August when I was growing up. And, now is no different. We're in week 4 already. But, our last day of school is June 4, so that's okay, too.

msbelle, all kinds of ~ma to you and Mac today.

Allyson, yay!!! on finishing your book! Go, you!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

last sun we saw some of Ferraro/Simon then some of S.William/? on the big screen, then Nadal/Almagro, then some of V.William/Clisters. Mon we saw some of a men's double that I only remember countries of Aut/Aut vs. Cze/Ind, then Oudin/Petrova, then some of Federer/Abredo.

I am totally jealous. Best of luck with work calm today and mac at school.

If we had cable/satellite, I would totally watch 90210. Some things are just like crack to me, and that's one of them

But this is the new version! It's so bad.

Congrats, Allyson!

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Isn't that a 12 hour difference? You are SO getting the better deal.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

These are awesome!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I know which one makes more sense in my head, but does it really matter if the kids are in school through August or June?

It mattered in Florida with the air conditioning bill.

Emmett's school starts in late August, but they have an extra week off in winter. Two weeks for xmas/holiday break, but then also one week in February (known as "ski week").

Emmett gets about 10.5 weeks off for summer. They always start the new school year off on a Wednesday to ease them into it. And usually Labor Day weekend follows but this year they had a whole week before Labor Day.

Hmph. I have to upgrade to Snow Leopard so my MacBook can run Bento. Oh well. It's supposed to be faster.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

In other school news, we're shopping for a pre-school. We had a pre-school lined up in November but then they jacked their rates from $1,000/month to $1,300. Yikes.

The Montessori in our nabe is only $725/month, but then you have to pay for after care too so it would still be about a thou. We're going to their open house on Saturday and then another school on Monday for a walk through.

Matilda's two fellow three-year olds at daycare have already moved on. Sniff.

Do you have an Intel Mac, David? You have to have an Intel Mac to run Snow Leopard.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

It mattered in Florida with the air conditioning bill.

Isn't it hotter in August, so it would make sense to start later, not earlier?
