Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

You know who else I don't get why they interview? Lady Gaga. I have not heard her say anything interesting or un-twee, but it's possible she saves that stuff up for the tail end of the segments, because I rarely last that long. Is her music good? Catchy? Or is she just a personality based on her looks?

I find her music catchy. Good workout music. OK dance music. Not brilliant. Paparazzi NOT good workout or dance music.

Rit Dye question: I'm dyeing onesies black (why I can't find plain solid black onesies remains a MYSTERY). How long should it be stirred and sit in the bath if I'm doing it on the stove? ~30 minutes right?

The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

Around that long, Kat. Um, did you add a packet of forest green Rit? If not, your black onesies will be a reddish-black.

Oh crap. No. I didn't know about the forest green Rit. It makes me feel like I should run to Target and get green. The only color I have left is orange. I figure that won't help much, huh?

Or I'll be fine with reddish black.

eta OH CRAP am I going to have to redo these? I just need yellow and black for two bumblebee costumes. And the other three I can redye if needed.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think Lady Gaga's songs are catchy. And good.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

One of the level heads in the Republican party is Newt Gingrich. At least someone seems to be living in something resembling this reality.

Newt Gingrich, the former House speaker, said on “Fox News Sunday,” “It is good to have the president of the United States say to young people across America, ‘Stay in school, study and do your homework.’ ”

And Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican of Tennessee, said on the same show, “Of course the president of the United States should be able to address students.”

“If I were a teacher,” Mr. Alexander added, “I’d take advantage of it.”

They'd be on that thing called a radio, wouldn't they? iTunes and my iPods have shrunk my music listening to what I already have or what I catch on TV and buy on impulse. I should hook up Pandora or something so I can get some fresh blood for free. Much less scary than turning on a radio station where people might talk at me.

Some time back I decided to test Pizza Hut's online ordering service. It was annoyingly not compatible with my browser of choice, Opera, so I had to switch to Firefox to complete the transaction. Ah, well. Pizza was--the dough was too sweet. And then a couple days later some woman CALLS me for a satisfaction survey, traditionally inflexible. I did try to explain to her that I ordered online to avoid speaking to humans, so she was ruining the whole thing for me and I'd never do it again, and the more questions she asked the more negative I'd get. I don't think it clicked for her--I don't think her form had anywhere to check off "blatant animosity to people." Or she just didn't get to it quickly enough.

Unrelatedly, I have a crush on TJ Thyne from Bones. He's a pocket rocket. Nummmy. Must google.

Now tagless for your comfort.

I think Lady Gaga's music is sort of catchy. I don't dance but I like to catch the songs on the radio.

Speaking of radio, I have yet to install our new audio tuner. I hope the process is as uncomplicated as unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one. I'm putting it off and sitting outside by the fire on the patio.
