Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Oh, using a laundromat is usually worse than sharing a laundry room in the building I live in. (I say "usually" because a laundromat is less likely to have every machine in use.) The last time I had to use a laundromat on a regular basis was in '87-'88. The laundromat was about 5 blocks away, and usually I'd be lazy and drive there....

My leak adventure gets more interesting: it isn't just that the water is coming in under the door, it's coming through the door. As in, through the panels. Oh my god. When I made the offer, I wanted a credit for all the doors, but no, seller countered with replacing this one. There was a reason I wanted to do it myself. Anyway, storm door will solve this and I now know I want to caulk and heavily repaint this (new) door. And, since I have the receipt, I am going to call the people who did it and bitch. Maybe I'll get lucky and they'll do the work for free.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I've preferred laundromats to apartment building laundry rooms -- the laundromat has more machines and is less creepy, on average, IME. And they have change machines. I do know I've been lucky in that usually the laundromat has been less than a block away, at the furthest.

This is the type of door I'm putting in: [link]

I'm turning into one of those people, aren't I?

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

Oh, sarameg, nothing pisses me off more than people doing a crap job at what I've paid them to do. Kick them.

Also, nice door.

I didn't pay, but still. The company he hired does a lot of new construction work, so I'm kind of surprised it was so shoddy. So they will hear from me.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

Had a nice day in the city. Met our friends at the American Museum of Natural History. Spent a few hours walking around there. Had dinner at a nice Japanese place near Times Square, then took the train back to our car.
