Cash, I love that you IRL sniped someone! HA!

Sibling rivalry.... probably. Grace is on a tear these days.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Can you all imagine?

Yes, I love the idea that Grace will there. She's lovely and I want her to be a bigger part of the rest of her family.

Cash, I'm not sure I love this one, but our regular day care is closed next week and we might/will need relief because K has meetings on Thursday and Friday and I have them on Wednesday and Thursday. Granted 5 hours of drop in won't help us all the way.

They opened on tuesday and are run by a mother-daughter team. The place is clean, inviting. Noah loves the climbing structure. Their food options are not great (pizza or subs, neither of which he really eats). They were flummoxed by his diapers (which is fine) and he came home with a bum genius diaper inside of a regular diaper cover. Very odd. But they were nice and he seemed to be having fun when we arrived.

Plus next week is our LAST WEEK OF VACATION and I'd like to get a little yoga in before I go back so if I have to drop him off for an hour or two, I will.

Also, I know it's really SoCal, but I think we'll be exploring indoor playgrounds this week. It's SO HOT today and the air is so bad that I don't want Noah outside (reminds me of that Ray Bradbury story, "All Summer in a Day"). Tomorrow he's going to hangout with Lori. Sunday we will go to a playground in Arcadia, maybe. Monday we're going to Amy's Playground. Tuesday we're going to the San Diego Zoo, Friday I don't know which one we will try!

The fire has officially closed JPL. They evacuated! Hope Allyson is okay.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That's really great, Kat. Something amazing for Grace and everyone to look forward to.

It is hot, isn't it? My father thinks of LA as kinda chilly, so of course it's going to cool down when he gets here, but I couldn't wish the heat on anyone much longer. My apartment only really gets hot for an hour or two around now. It'll be okay by the time I try and go to bed. I would cool myself down by sating my frozen fruit addiction, but I can't take my medication within two hours of eating. Pfft.

It is great. But tempered by the knowledge that we have to get through flu season this year and it's been a wickedly bad one in the southern hemisphere with H1N1 being not digestive but pulmonary. So my little respiratorily challenged girl might backslide. In some ways, I wish she and we were ready for her to come home NOW right NOW so we could avoid it. But I have work and that means I'll be exposed anyhow.

Anyhow, what she wore to the party: [link] WATERMELONS!

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'm so glad to hear that Grace is improving so much! I suppose Noah and her will have more than usual sibling rivalry than most twins because of their long separation, different experiences, and so on, but it will be good to have to work through those experiences, you know?

YAY GRACE!

sara - look at Land's End for suits.

I am so pleased that none of Endashaw's friends seem to be wanting to avoid him (or the parents who know the FULL story) when we call about getting together. I was really afraid.

Yesterday was a good day. much needed. it is way to early to hope that it is a trend, but it was nice to have.

That's very good, msbelle.

I need to do try on, and have not the patience with mail order.

Debating staying awake. Probably the best time to walk, but I'm not really that kind of awake yet.
