Kaylee: Is that him? Mal: That's the buffet table. Kaylee: Well how can we be sure, unless we question it?

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

People on the East coast may be able to step outside and see the shuttle launch in a minute...

It's way too foggy to see anything.

Now tagless for your comfort.

We're back from our fundraiser. I scored a small watercolor painting, some mineral makeup and two hand made necklaces for $90. I also won an American Girl doll for $20 in raffle tickets.

Weird - because it was a night launch you could see (from the external tank cam) all this hot plasma surrounding the shuttle. Then after MECO and tank separation, you could see the flashes from cameras on the shuttle as they automatically took pictures of the tank.

Which doll, Cash? That's quite a haul!

Grace had a beach party today. How you have a beach party for a facility full of kids with traches (sand or water + traches do not mix for obvious reasons) is a little confounding.

It was good. Lots of people stopped to talk to us and the scuttlebutt is that Grace will be home in less than a year. We have more training and she has more stabilizing, but yeah. Can you all imagine?

We also tried a drop in day care center for the first time tonight. Mainly because they have a big play area and with the fires and the heat, Noah's daycare had him indoors all day. So at dropin, they have lots of space to run and climb and a slide too. Drop In Day Care is a brilliant concept. I hope they stay in business.

Whoa. Can thankfully picture, at long last, but... Imagining sibling rivalry with N&G.

That is fabulous.

Kat, it's one of the American Girl Today line--not one of the historical dolls. But she is blonde hair and green eyes like Olivia and is going to be a stallar Christmas prezzie!

I had to snipe a woman on the painting. We were bidding heavily but I hung out near the painting at the end. It's a small, matted, framed soft watercolor of a rose--which is Liv's middle name and my maiden name so I think I may hang it in her bedroom.

And that is AWESOME, Kat. It's really amazing.

I hope so, too. They really are a lifesaver for some folks. It's nice if you can find one that you trust and love.

Cash, I love that you IRL sniped someone! HA!

Sibling rivalry.... probably. Grace is on a tear these days.
