I like books. I just don't want to take on too much. Do they have an introduction to the modern blurb?

Because books.

No, this is the Ren Faire just a few miles from us, way up here near Oswego. It's good, though! That's the one, Sophia. It's the right size for us, and the performers are always great.

Happy birthday, Kat! I'll eat cake in your honor!

Happy anniversary, Barb!

What are people doing this weekend?

Most likely getting drafted to wrangle a baby and help with home remodeling, probably while my aunt tells me and my sister all about the diet she was on that helped her lose so much weight.

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

Jessica, that's AWESOME. It's right on the shore!

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

Tonight, going to Tiki steak house with house guest. Tomorrow, cleaning house, followed by a friend's 50th birthday party. This friend has a pool, and they are having the party catered with fabulous food and there will be a live band (local kids from down the street) so much fun will be had. Sunday, recover from house guest, yardwork.

mac has movie and outing with uncle tomorrow and then movie and a playdate with friends on Sun. I am trying to figure out what I can do in the free time that will actually make me feel good, but not tired from rushing around.

Happy birthday, Kat!! Happy (early) birthday, vwbug!! And happy anniversary, Barb!!

My brother, nephew, and I are going to see Harry Potter tonight. My mom is still getting over her recent bout of pneumonia, so we're only doing short trips out and she ends up taking extended naps afterwards (she won't be coming to the film with us since she'll end up coughing and then sleeping through it). We are planning on going through photos this afternoon.

Tomorrow will be playing by ear and then tomorrow night, the rest of my brother's kids will be coming over for dinner. And then on Sunday, Mom and I are heading over to my stepsister's house in Lancaster County--I have yet to meet her now-toddling daughter, and cannot wait to see her!

Monday I'll be doing whatever around here, and then heading back home on Tuesday and Wednesday. Mom wanted me to stay a few extra days, but I've got to get home and get things done before going back to work.

Sad byproduct of my brother's now-finalized divorce is that he has to get rid of his two Malamutes. Terrific dogs but ones that have only been outdoor dogs and my now-ex-SIL is not a dog lover and wants them gone in the next two weeks. He's trying to find a new home for them, but it's hard. The local Malamute Rescue society has a disconnected phone, so he's trying the local ASPCA, the breeder he bought them from, and a few other local groups as well as putting up a notice at the vet.

Why can't he keep them?

Why can't he keep them?

He's living at my mom's house in the 55+ community, and they don't allow for outdoor-kenneled dogs, especially ones as big as these two. It's breaking his heart to let them go, and when he told his youngest boy this morning, Dylan cried the whole way home.
