In spite of the fact that I own Green Lantern comics and have written Green Lantern porn, all this lantern talk keeps sending me to a "Ha! Ha! Power rings are like Magic Grue Repellent!" place.
Natter 64: Yes, we still need you
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Does this mean that the black ring searches out the most dead person in the world?
Edward Cullen: Black Lantern.
Agreed about Guy. He's even got the toddler haircut.
In 95 minutes, I have to call to see if I'm going to be on jury duty downtown tomorrow. Please send out no jury duty~ma Chicagoward!! For me to get downtown will involve a 90 minute drive both ways and up to a $30 parking fee to park next to the Daley Center. If I'm lucky, I'll get a $20 check for my day's efforts (last time I did jury duty, it was only $17). I'm on standby, and I'm hoping they'll say that they don't need me.
I just had jury duty and I only got a check for $17.20, Kathy.
My employer pays me in full for the day, but if I get any money, I have to pay it to them!
I just postponed to the week before Christmas because I cannot do it during theatre-- that is just lunacy. I also have a horrible feeling that if I get to the part where they are questioning me, I will get picked. Especially in interviews I seem really honest and non-judgemental, and I feel like the defense would like me and the prosecution wouldn't hate me. But who knows.
I would totally want you on my jury, Sophia.
I did jury duty in June. It was amazingly informative - and for the only time in my life I felt like a citizen (as opposed to "some faker who lives here and other people believe belongs").
I only got $10/day - and my employer didn't kick any money in. Contracting sucks.
I get $15 and parking costs $8.
I find out in 25 minutes.
(I do stilll get paid by work.)
Oh, I get paid by work, too. We used to have to turn over our checks to the company, but they don't have us do that anymore.
Are you on call tomorrow, too, sara?
