Oh, geez msbelle! Much calming ~ma to you and Mac. Wow.
Stress needs to fuck the hell off of you!
One day, I will know something. One day.
This is my dream, too.
Gud, going back to the racism thing, were you referring to the geographic segregation of KC?
For those who don't know KCMO, there's a major N/S street that runs the length of the city that divides where the poorer African Americans predominate and on the other a long narrow strip to the state line where most of the Caucasians live.
I lived in one of the transitional neighborhoods between an almost all black highschool and middle school and the chichi art institute. It was an interesting mix.
But, Gud's right about the schools. KC's school board is a disgrace and anybody who can afford to sends their kids to parochial or otherwise private schools.
God, msbelle. Yes, listen to the wise insurance advice. This is definitely emergency stuff.

Like 8 Mile in Detroit. It's the white flight divider.
New poll finds that 39 percent of Americans want government to ‘stay out of Medicare.’
The poll also shows that an additional 15% of respondents were “not sure” if the government should be involved in Medicare. Only 46% of respondents disagreed with the proposition that the government should stay out of the government-run program.
Possibly our country is too stupid to live....
Oh, Christ, iGoogle has added social gadgets. Because there is not enough social networking online already!
Oh msbelle, I'm so, so fucking sorry. And you should definitely find a hospital staff member to take care of insurance and hopefully ass 'em in the ear hard. Lots of ~ma and good thoughts for you and mac.
I'm sorry. I'm hoping you are getting some help from the staff.
Still vibing for the two of you, msbelle.
(As bad as this is, it occurs to me that having this crisis at this age is better than having it when he's a teenager or an adult, when self-medicating drug use would complicate things even more, not to mention having a smart parent who can make necessary decisions. I know he's in good hands with you.)
msbelle, My boss, who is a nurse and whose husband is also a nurse and works in the ER says that it is possible to have the uninsured portion paid for by Medicaid and you may be able to apply right in the hospital if you talk to Patient Accounts or Patient Billing or a department like that. You woudn't have to do it right this minute, but if he is admitted, you could do it while he is getting settled. I would be happy to search the hospital's website or even make some calls to see who the right person to talk to is.
