“Not dead yet!”

OMG, Plei, I just found another site with more pictures of that house-- it's GORGEOUS. The floors alone have me drooling with mad lust.

And another link of photos. I think I'm in love.

Coding and Sleeping

My wife and I talked about moving again recently, just in town. I think we're about three years out, though. She'd like to move to have a bigger place. Our current house isn't very big, but mortgage is half-way paid off.

It's so amazing that cardiac patients can do so well, with good treatment.

I'm a cardiac patient, but a different kind.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Oh my God, this may be one of my favorite Onion articles ever. It's brilliant. I've been wanting to read Karamazov for years, and I look forward to appreciating this article even more afterwards.

Film Adaptation Of 'The Brothers Karamazov' Ends Where Most People Stop Reading Book:

To that end, the film makes extensive use of a new state-of-the-art "skim-over" technology, which allows the more tedious depictions of existential inquiry to be played at double or even triple speed.

In addition, the film reportedly contains a number of innovative "go-back" sequences, in which early scenes between Dmitri and Fyodor are replayed later in the movie with greater attention to detail, clearer exposition, and many of the actors in their correct roles.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

And another link of photos. I think I'm in love.

What's up with all the random filler pictures of stuff a couple of miles away, though? (The park? Up by my sister's house. Like, two doors away from my sister's house. Which is at least 2 miles away from my parents, who are maybe a mile, half a mile from that house. St. Francis and the rest of the Seahurst shots? All the way around the Point and up Maplewild. I AM CONFUSED, REAL ESTATE DUDES!)

I AM CONFUSED, REAL ESTATE DUDES

Heh. They're clearly trying to sell on the (somewhat) nearby charm?

And distance is relative. The middle school Abby is going to is four miles away from my house-- but it's still part of the "neighborhood." Grocery store is three, but also on the edge of the development.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Soooo sleepy right now.

I started a cross-stitch piece on Friday, thinking I'd be getting finished with the first phase of work (the borders) by the end of the week. Well, last night, I was moving along on it so well that I stayed up until 3:00 am working on it. (Didn't finish it, but I should have it done by bedtime on Wednesday at the latest. Then, I can get started with filling in the middle. It's just a Christmas piece for myself, but I'd like to have it done by the end of September so I can get it and another piece I finished last year framed and hung before the holidays.)

At 3:00 am, I finally went to bed, only to discover that the vcr part of my bedroom tv is not working--I might have to see if I can plug in my old vcr into the tv and play boring documentaries to fall asleep to that way. Then, I tried to get asleep with the tv off, and laid there for over an hour before nodding off. Then, the cat came in and meowed at full volume at 5:00, waking me up briefly before I fell back to sleep until the alarm went off at 8:30.

I want to go to bed right now.

Fandom means never having to say "But where would I wear that?"

Timelies all!

The inside door handle on the driver's side of my car broke. I'll see when I can bring it to the dealer to be fixed. The car still runs, and I can get out of it by rolling down the window and opening the door from the outside, but that's really annoying.
