Timelies all!
Am back from Montreal, and exhausted.
The trip was great, except for two things:
1) stairs- Three of the four hotels we stayed in didn't have elevators, which is a problem when you are toting the giant suitcase of doooom. (not to mention that the hotel we stayed at for Anticipation, while across the street from the filk hotel, did not have exits/entrances on that side that were open past 6 pm)
2) road construction - it was everywhere.

I think previously I had been paying 10% of that and NYU was paying the rest.
COBRA is important because you don't want any gaps in coverage whatsoever or you may invoke pre-existing condition bullshit later on.

In other news, so the funny thing about two-years-old: when you tell a two-year-old not to eat the sand, what's the first thing they are apt to do? Yep.
Toddlers are suicidal. Not in an intentional woe sort of way, but in an extreme sports sort of way. They do grow out of it. Some and mostly.
In other news, if my Kinsey ever shifts, I am so calling Rachel Maddow.
I think Tino turned off me and my neighbors water for ten minutes. Had to wash my hands from their barely dribbling spigot, laid down with visions of bathing with baby wipes, when I hear the toilet filling up again. The hell?

Thanks for the link btw. It says the same thing I heard, which is that the bill will be "abortion neutral" but to me it doesn't seem neutral at all to scrupulously protect all federal money from paying for abortions.
My COBRA payments should be in the $550 range but there was something the Obama Administration did that means I only have to pay a third for a few months. I'm hoping to have a job before this little gift ends in October.
My COBRA was considerably less than any insurance I could get on my own. It depends entirely on your plan.
I complain about the cost of my current insurance, but I've certainly gotten my money's worth.
Yes, I could not get my own insurance for any reasonable price because I have a chronic condition.
