"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Would one of the drawer dishwashers work for you? They can take up less space, especially if you only do one drawer instead of two, although you would probably still need some cabinetry rework. However, since you're about to have the classic sized family, you might want the full sized washer anyway. The single drawer works fine for us, but it's just the two of us.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

Grrr. I wanna go home early due to weather and traffic worries, but I haven't heard back from either coworker (both of whom are working from home today) to make sure they're okay with my leaving now. And, I just called my apartment manager's office to see if they have any packages for me, and they do, but they'll probably be closing early as well, so I have to be home within 45 minutes to pick it up.

Aww, babypandacam! So cute.

Eesh, Kathy. I'd say go. You have safety to think about.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

The Onion had one of the best newspaper corrections ever:

'The Onion quoted Senator X as saying, "Jesus Christ almighty, this is good fucking cocaine". The Senator's actual words were "Tax reform can only proceed in a framework of reexamining subsidies". The Onion regrets the error.'

If I want to become a cloud of bats, does each bat need a separate vaccination?

In the space I have, an 18" built-in would fit better than a drawer-style because I'd just be replacing one entire cabinet rather than chopping one in half.

Maybe I should tell my sister to circulate to my extended family the suggestion of a gift certificate to Sears as the perfect 2nd-baby-shower-gift...

Jessica, there must be some places that would give you a free estimate. This site gives a ballpark of $500-1000. (It's a Canadian site so materials may be less. But I don't know if there's a NY premium on labour.) [link]

I would estimate a couple hours work each for a plumber and a carpenter. I would love a dishwasher...really, a whole new kitchen.
