But exciting Olympics, yay! Which events are you going to, Kat?
We only have tickets to women's luge. Which is sort of silly, lots of looking in one direction then ZOOM looking in the other.
We have to take a bus out to Whistler because that's where the sliding centre is and it's been a bite in the ass to get those tickets from Translink.
YES THE OLYMPICS WHICH WE ARE GOING TO NEXT MONTH.
DUDE! We really want to go. But can't. Amtrak made promotional noises at us when we were booking our last trip and we were all planning fantasy trip up there.

That's cool! Is that your fave?
Yeah, Whistler is not normally on their route. Still, big event, make it easy people!
What area are you staying in?
That's cool! Is that your fave?
Nope. But a friend had extra tickets and we bought those. Tickets for hockey were over $400/each. Tickets for speed skating and curling were over $300. Tickets for luge? $50!
What area are you staying in?
okay, this shows we are insane. We are flying into Seattle (our tickets were $90 RT each) and we are staying with friends in Gig Harbor. We are going up to Vancouver on the AM of 2/15 (and not even crack of dawn AM!) taking the bus out to Whistler for a 5:00 PM event then back to Vancouver on the bus and back to Gig Harbor. Our tickets are on president's day which we have off and we are flying to Seattle on Saturday and back on Tuesday so we only miss one day of work.
Nifty! Though potentially majorly stressy. Or not.
I think the big stress is we are staying with J and G (and we have tickets for them but it might not work) and they have a 7 year old, and twin 2 year olds and we have Noah. That's a bad kid to adult ratio.
That's a bad kid to adult ratio.
Ooh, bad. You can't let them outnumber you.
Yeah. They outnumber us. And if Grace were up to travel it would be even worse.
I feel like I'm having the budget olympic experience.
