I am exhausted. I swam (may or may not have been a good idea) and now have vacuumed and mopped the whole damned house. More to tidy up, but I need to make a TJ's run. Did I mention I am exhausted? And all sorts of weird shit hurts. I think the cleaning gave me tennis elbow or something.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hee. That's an effective mechanism. 'Cause it's not like there's a dearth of stupid people on the internet. Or stuff to clean.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Did I mention I am exhausted?

Because you're SICK. And should be RESTING.

Hmph. Of course, maybe I'm just trying to make myself feel better because my main accomplishment for the day was taking out the trash. And now I'm making a little stew with already-cooked meat and a sweet potato and a white potato.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

This damn cold is holding on forever and seems to be kick my ass in terms of energy.

I am so with you. I'm on day 16, and I keep producing amounts of snot that surely are larger than my brain. The cough is reduced a lot, though not totally gone, and my chest isn't really tight any more.

But exhaustion? Oh my god. I just took a shower, mostly because I needed one, but also because I thought that maybe I could grab a sponge and see how much mildew I could get off the shower curtain that way. It turns out I got 90% of the mildew off with the sponge, but just scrubbing -- not like a maniac; actually, more like wiping, maybe -- wore my ass out.

I'd welcome total eradication of this cold any time now.

Life moves pretty fast. You don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.

DH and I spent three hours buying plants, digging, planting and mulching the front beds at my office, because the owner is coming to visit next week and they were empty and made the place look terrible. We don't have enough landscaping budget to buy plants AND hire someone to plant, so I volunteered because I am, apparently, NUTS.

ION, we have started watching the complete new Doctor Who I got for my birthday. We saw the first five last night from the Eccleston era, which I'd never seen. Nice stuff!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Nine! He'll forever and anon be "my" Doctor. Four has taken a half-step back.

I have unpacked another box, and spent an hour looking unsuccessfully for my necklace lacing. See, I can go for a while unpacking the big stuff if I have places to put it. I have to set an hour limit on the fiddly bits or I spiral in to Rain Man state--not a good look for me.

I don't ever want to live without little bits of pot roast doled out in the freezer again. I mean, seriously. That stew wasn't even very good! (It would have been better if I had onions or wine in the house, among other things.) But it was still way better than anything else I could have come up with in five minutes of chopping and fifteen on the stove.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Will black work?

Absolutely!

Oh man, I've got the tummy sick. We were at Descanso Gardens and I ended up throwing up in one of the flower beds (luckily at the back, behind a building where no one walks). Ugh.

This fucker better not last 16 days! I usually cycle through a cold in a week, with some minor residuals for a little longer.

So TJs looks like a bomb went off on Sunday nights. Were out of some of my stuff. Hmph. But I have tomato soup and hot cider now. And blessed, blessed clementines. Pretty much all I've eaten all day.

It's been a while since I've had a bug linger this long. I think it's more than just a cold, although I keep referring to it as a cold. Considering the doctor gave me antibiotics because of my cough/chest symptoms, maybe I should call this a respiratory infection.

I just call it shitty.
