The artist formerly associated with cupcakes.

JZ, you look fantastic!

See? I gave everybody here an opportunity to tell me what a bad person I am and nobody did, because I fuckin' rule.

I'm all blushy at the compliments. Blushy, but not smiley, because lately all my smiley pictures look profoundly double-chinned, way out of proportion to the way I look in real life; I've never been more than averagely photogenic, and always had a fairly large number of pictures so wrong they warranted prompt destruction, but it's gotten noticeably worse over the last year. The Vogue-ish not quite smiling pictures are practically the only ones lately that look at all like me, to me anyway.

Does this happen for anyone else? You look at the majority of pictures of yourself and you don't so much think God, I'm ugly as Who the hell is that? That doesn't look like me, it looks like someone who vaguely resembles me if you squint.

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

JZ, yes.

But the rest of us like to see you smile, so. Later on, you'll wish there were more photos of your smile.

H is having chills and an urpy tummy and will be having plain rice for dinner. I'm finishing up the hummus and having celery and cottage cheese, a selection of Calamatta, green, black, and variously stuffed olives, and fresh mozzarella. What? I love all those things, right? Begin as you mean to go on, I say.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Yes.

I hold my head weird in pictures. I also close my eyes reflexively.

brillig

Went and bought new tennis shoes (I never play tennis, and they're fancy designed-for-walking shoes, but anything not a leather dressy shoe or a sandal will always be a tennis shoe to me), then had a Brazilian carnivore festival lunch, then bought many books at B&N. A good day.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Anyone know where I can find an mp3 of Kim Possible saying, "What's the sitch?"

Swam and went & saw Up in the Air. Really liked it. Other than the napping and oh holy hell when I dove deep in the pool, not feeling too poorly. Definitely a headcold. Stocked up on mucinex and delsym to move it along as it gets into the later stages. Which, considering I have a long ass dental appointment in a week, it really needs to do. I do not need to be coughy or sneezy with sharp things in my mouth.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

We decided at the last minute to go out on our last night of vacation instead of cooking the groceries we'd bought at the beginning of the week. Oh well, hopefully the housekeeping staff can enjoy them instead. We went to a kitschy burgers-and-fried-shrimp type of place and it was perfect. I will really never understand why my extended family insists on eating at the overpriced "fine dining" restaurants out here when the only thing this island does well is fried shrimp in a basket and diner breakfasts. My burger was a well-cooked burger with a very acceptable pile of fries next to it. And it didn't cost $30.

Dylan is now totally fried because he didn't nap today, but hopefully that means he'll go to bed on time for the first time all week. My fingers are crossed we can keep the airport meltdowns tomorrow to a minimum.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Anyone know where I can find an mp3 of Kim Possible saying, "What's the sitch?"

I bet Scola can help.
