Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Swinton's too controversial!

I shall refute your statement by adding additional exclamation marks:

Swinton!!!!

So there!

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Possibly Susan Sarandon, too.

Slight ding for the breakup but her status is probably secure.

Are there no men? Maybe George Clooney.

I'm trying to think of writers. Alice Munro definitely. Gaiman? Hmmm. Does he have the lit cred? Within his own demo, yes, but outside of that I wonder.

brillig

The J-Lo dress wins for color and fabric. Any other fabric, and it would look horrible to me. But just looking at that color combination makes me happy.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

I think Meryl Streep is fast approaching that status. if she is not already there.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I think they lied when they said we were only getting an inch of snow today. Good thing I don't have to leave the house for the rest of the year.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Filmmakers is an interesting area for this because most of the best directors of the last decade are all polarizing and have lots of vocal critics: Tarantino, PTA, Wes Anderson, Coen Bros.

Pixar's kind of close to that status, but I could still make a reasonable case against that wouldn't just rebound on me.

She's definitely there. The only gripe against her early on was her seriousness, but she's developed an excellent case for herself as a comic actress over the years now. In fact, she's probably more seen as a comic actress now. Plus a sterling, private social life and much affection form co-stars and directors.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

My only problem with Meryl is that she has a daughter named Mamie Gummer.

information libertarian

Well, she married a man named Gummer. And Mamie was probably her mother's name or something.

Are there no men? Maybe George Clooney.

Walter Cronkite and Johnny Carson fit the bill when alive.
