And the bank thing was due to a computer glitch. Pity. Dad would have loved the idea of coming back as ZombieDad, debit card in hand. Anyway, it's resolved, with no cost to me except for a trip to the local branch. And they found that the problem had occurred before, but I didn't notice because of various and sundry preoccupations. So there's an unexpected $100 going back into the estate account. Well worth 10 minutes of driving and 15 minutes sitting in a bank lobby.

Jesse, check with your vet and see if they're going to have any deals in February or March. My vet has deals for Dental Health Care month(s) (also because those are the two deadest months for the office), and they give 10-20% off of any dental work. I'm thinking about taking Amarna back in for another cleaning (she had hers done in 2007 for about $275) because the vet is getting rather vocal about the level of gunk she has on her teeth.
I think I paid $800 for Clio's extractions, and a cleaning. I was so pissed because that cat has been eating T/D (Tartar control) food since she was a kitten. It made me a little more skeptical of the need to clean a cat's teeth though. Clio's weren't that bad, tartarwise, because of the food, and yet she had already lost two teeth and needed another two pulled. She's just got bad teeth.
I think my vet charges $100. Mister Kitty is the one who really needs it, but he's too old.
I occasionally get calls for my late father from people trying to sell business services. I always tell them he can't be reached by telephone, and they need to try an entirely different Medium.
I have never had any of my pets' teeth professionally cleaned and none of them have ever, ever had any teeth/jaw/whatever problems. And I take really good care of my pets.

That is fascinating. I'll probably do it in February or March, anyway.

Yeah, extractions would be more. The blood work beforehand is $100, and then the cleaning is $200-$300. Crazy!! Last year, the old vet gave me some spray stuff that was supposed to help, but it was such drama trying to get it in his mouth, I never used it much.

this is me.
Man, how much do I not want to pack my suitcase again tonight? MANY MUCH.
Famous San Francisco Sea Lions Abandon Their Pier 39 Post
The blubbery sea lions at Pier 39, one of San Francisco’s smelliest and most famous tourist attractions, are gone. During the last week of November, they left the wooden docks on which they’ve spent the last 20 years and no one knows if they’ll be coming back.
