Now tagless for your comfort.

And I was just telling another neighborhood parent how I am all ready for school to start back up.

By 5pm today, I'll be ready for school to start back up. I think I meant "ready" in the "girded my loins" sense.

I think people without kids (or without kids like mac) do not get how hard transitions are. It is a hard thing to explain to people and since he rarely shows his non-coping self to others people often doubt that there is an issue.

People (and many family members) thought I was crazy for getting Owen tested for autism. They really didn't see some of the more frustrating aspects of his daily life.

With Leif it's just the constant activity, talking, and experiments.

We must never introduce Leif to Olivia. Seriously.

Noah and I had an argument this morning which resulted in him peeing on the floor. Can this stage end please?

BTDT. NEVER want to go back.

yes, this minus the experiements. What mac really wants is for me to play with him the entire day, which is lovely on one hand, but playing with him is a chore. He contributes almost nothing to the play (this is what they work on in therapy). So you have figures and you are making up a dialogue and moving them around endlessly with virtually no interaction from him but to swoop around you making sound effects that have nothing to do with the narrative. Then he will just disrupt what you are doing with no explanation and no ability to tell you what he wants to happen in the play, but he wants you to continue and he gets upset if you don't seem like you are enjoying it. 15-20 min of that at a time is my limit. My brain goes pretty quickly to chores that need doing around the house. This is why peer playdates are AWESOME because they entertain each other with the low-developed play.

We did play 2 board games the other night for about an hour, but mac was rolling around and hopping about for about half that time, which again, just calls for patience that I have to call up from the land of make-believe.

ION - Oh we oh we oh - The Time is on my Pandora.

IOON - The office is super empty. I should get through all the invoices which don't require input from others. Then on to reimbursables.

We're very stretchy. - Connie Neil

I just got an e-mail request for a meeting with my boss's boss--apparently, my boss broke her ankle over the weekend, and he wants to meet to discuss coverage for her while she's out! It's a severe enough break that she's having surgery tomorrow to put in some pins, ouch.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Today's TeeFury shirt is good for Stephen Colbert fans. And, ita, there tend to be a lot of Star Wars shirts on that site.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I wouldn't really call myself a Star Wars fan. I just like the image they're riffing the grrl power off of and think it's funny.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

msbelle, I hope things go well today getting mac from the movie to your appointment.

Kathy, sorry to hear about your boss.

I just like the image they're riffing the grrl power off of and think it's funny.

Yeah, if I'd seen that shirt I think I would have bought it, too. I would call myself a Star Wars fan, but at this point I'm not too likely to buy a t-shirt featuring the series.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OMFG -- I slept until 11 this morning. Which is wrong on so many levels, but the main one is that I have a vet appt at noon! I've barely finished my coffee, and have to run out the door. And I still haven't gotten a new carrier, so I hope I can lug him all the way to this new place. Ugh!

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

This is cool (if you like gravity): Gravity Wells

eta: Cool. If you were riding your bike on Deimos (a tiny moon of Mars), you could reach escape velocity by riding your bike up a ramp.
