Every planet has its own weird customs. About a year before we met, I spent six weeks on a moon where the principal form of recreation was juggling geese. My hand to God. Baby geese. Goslings. They were juggled.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

We went to bed around 8:30. mac still wants to sleep in my bed, so he had to bend to my sleepy will. I think the extra sleep will do him good.

We are headed out in an hour for a 3 stop quick morning 1) PO 2) clothing recycling at teh greenmarket 3) container store. Then back home where I will vacuum, maybe start some cooking and then dinner with neighborhood friend we never see.

We're going to COSI (the science museum) in Columbus, to meet an old friend I haven't seen since she came to my wedding, 11.5 years ago! Also we hope to go to Katzinger's Deli, where we always used to stop on the drive between Cincinnati and Cleveland.

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

My sister's friend is visiting this weekend. We baked cookies yesterday morning (well, I baked cookies while they watched), then the whole family went to see Up in the Air, and then we went for Chinese food. At dinner, my sister's friend and I were making some silly "My preciousss" jokes, and then we realized that my sister had still not seen LotR, so we immediately put that DVD in when we got home. It was already late, though, so we just watched up until the end of the "I will take the ring to Mordor" scene and then went to bed. We'll see if she's willing to watch the rest today.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Oh, joy. I get to fly on the day after Christmas (my own fault), out of an airport that was the target of a terrorist attack yesterday (not my own fault). Because the Detroit airport wasn't going to be chaotic enough.

Calli, on the bright side, I'm sure security will be very thorough.

When I was a kid, COSI was always such a treat!

Today will be the day we write out thank yous, go to yoga, maybe go ice skating.

True. I'm not particularly worried about another terrorism attempt. I'm more worried about people getting paranoid and jumpy and long lines getting longer. Meh. At least I don't have any connections to make.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Ugh, Calli -- good luck to you.

I just tried to channel my mother and somehow it all came out right.

Nice!

Happy birthday, Theodosia! And happy birthday, Rayne! (If she's lurking....)

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I know, me too! I loved COSI. Also, I have a favorite memory of being there with my class. They did all this special stuff with us, one of which was a dealio on centrifugal (centripetal? I forget) force, where they sat a kid in a chair and spun him around. He was supposed to think he was stopped before he was, but they let us put our biggest awesomest nerd in the chair, and he was feeling for the force pushing him against the back of the chair and he beat the experiment. We were so proud of him.
