"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

There aren't any horror stories, P-C, because you can control how many stars you want and the location. You can do a very tight location where you know there are a lot of decent, big business hotels and just go fishing for price.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

The last time I got a 4 star hotel for $100, I was pissed, because I would have taken fewer stars for less money!

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Suzi, ugh. I'm sorry.

From way back, where I am, we call it OOF, and I set my OOF mail, but never my voice mail, which I have not configured, and which we only use if a: IM is down; b: mail is down; and c: the other person is not physically at their computer when you walk by to tell them what you had to tell them.

Hell, some people at work don't even get to have physical phones. They have, like, headset things and can call via Communicator if they HAVE to make a call.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

I have -- it's always a chain hotel, so always decent, and cheap. If you don't care where you stay so much, I definitely recommend it.

Oh, good! I didn't know whether it stuck to chain hotels or also included weird skeevy places. Not that chain hotels can't be weird and skeevy.

I always start low in price and high in stars and make sure I have time to play with it. You have to wait a certain amount of time between attempts unless you are willing to drop your stars or change locations.

Yeah, it said that, but it let me change prices on the same stars a couple times, so...maybe it likes me. In any case, I saw that I could find a two-star place for just as much as a one-star place! So that was neat.

There aren't any horror stories, P-C, because you can control how many stars you want and the location. You can do a very tight location where you know there are a lot of decent, big business hotels and just go fishing for price.

Awesome. Thanks for the help, guys. That might be the easiest way to get a cheap motel in Tucson.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

We've always had success with Priceline. But now I've gotten to a point where I like one specific chain so it makes me act differently about how I find a place to stay.

We are going to san diego next week to wring as much zoo out of our zoo membership as possible.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

So we have a playdate scheduled for tomorrow. The plan is to pick the kid up by 12:30, lunch them come to our place. Normally they'd play for 4-5 hours and I'd take the kid back at 6, but that is when the storm is supposed to be in full swing. And getting him back to his place involves a walk and then train and a LONG walk for his mom. I guess I will just watch the windows and cut it short if it starts getting bad.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

We have a lot of people in different offices and no widespread use of IM. And there are just times I don't want to wait for email, and some people for whom it can be a long wait. Of course there's no reason anyone has to answer their phone either...but it wouldn't hurt to think they pay attention to voicemail.

Funny hotel name on Dollhouse.

We have a lot of people who don't like phones, apparently.

Seriously, I get maybe 3-4 calls in a month, and that's if it's busy.

I don't get that many calls. The people who need info from me sit within feet. But I need to pin east coast people down quite a bit.

Plus a ton of phone conferences. Do they not happen in your culture? We have very few meetings set up without a dialup and LiveMeeting option.
