I'd always pegged them as order, although they should be sequenced first.
That's how I see it. The argument can be made that the cops are instruments of the law and, I dunno, there's order in the courts?
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.

In the show Law & Order, are the cops law or order? I'd always pegged them as order, although they should be sequenced first.
Yeah, it should be Order & Law to go in order. You know they developed it like that because at the time everything doing well in syndication was a half-hour show and Dick Wolf wanted to make sure he could syndicate it.
I'd always seen it as the cops being enforcers of order and lawyers--well, they have law right in their name.
Well, Mr. Wolf sure did a good syndication job. Season 20 and I read that if NBC doesn't pick up 21, TNT will.

Yes, that's how I see it, too, I was just trying to make a case for the other way.
I did not know that syndication was the reason for it. Huh.
Now we have nothing for mac to give him and no ideas.
What about a LeatherMan tool?
Well, Mr. Wolf sure did a good syndication job.
Luckily they never had to actually sell it as separate half hours.
I am sure he has one.
I am going back to the best of 2007 and 2008 book lists. I will find some things there.
Sorry, -t. I didn't get that you were advocating for the devil.
I can't imagine actually consuming the show separately. Of course, it's a lot blurrier now, with more personal consideration and quite recently LESS COURTROOM TIME.
I was thinking about giving my father a knife this year, but seriously the last thing he needs is a new pocketknife. Of course, that's the problem -- he doesn't really need anything!
Oh der. I should get him tickets for something.
