We can come by between classes. Usually I use that time to copy over my class notes with a system of different colored pens. But it's been pointed out to me that that's, you know...insane.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Oh, my god, it is so much work being a Saints fan.

nods

I had my share of 'sodes during the Packers game today,

Now tagless for your comfort.

We're happy the Pack won today. Wish we could have seen the Colts game but we're pleased with their win. I want to smack the msnbc.com commentator who's been predicting for two weeks that the Saints and the Colts were both going to LOSE. Wanker.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

Heh.

I remember the crazy days. 500 posts an hour. Nubmer! Natgbsb

am home and changed into dry clothes. Then just shocked myself with Christmas lights (there was a frayed wire I did not see) and my hand is still tingly. DO NOT LIKE.

Now to fold clothes and get these gift together, while watching football.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I was going to get my cards done today, but that hasn't happened yet. I don't think the next 7+ hours are going to change that. But I did get cookies made for a work event tomorrow, and apple gingerbread for a thing tonight. And I made chicken barley soup for next week's lunches. Eh, I'm gonna call it a productive day, and try to get the cards done over a few evenings this coming week.

Our wings are not tired.

A friend from college who had been living in Colorado showed up--due to Facebook. I hadn't seen her in about 15 years and as soon as she saw me she burst into tears--it was so lovely to catch up.

Sometimes I hate Facebook, but I absolutely love stories like this.

Megan and I ended up seeing a movie last night instead of going to get a Christmas tree. And now I lack the motivation to go get one. As I was stirring the steelcut oatmeal this morning, I burst into tears. I guess it's long overdue, but gdammit I miss Steve. I think my mind has been playing games with me, and it's been pretending he's just away on a long business trip. And now it's just suddenly dropping a reality ball the size of Boston Common into my lap and I'm not doing too well. I'll snap out of it, I always manage to, but. Part of me is wishing I'd planned a big Christmas party this year, because then at least I'd have a reason to get a tree and decorate, etc. But I didn't want to add any pressure. Maybe I need the pressure.

Swouncing

are you trying to tell us something?

Hmm, I made the same play on Willow's and Buffy's words last year, but then nobody seemed to comment about how my weight is not the same as the average Hollywood actress weight or something. Who knew that being careful with one's BtVS quotes is one of the results of marriage?

So, alas, still tiny. H is sometime still surprised to find out how short I am when standing next to him ("Hey, you really *are* short!"), and thankfully, unlike a friend who told me recently about how she had gained over 20 pounds in the first few months following her wedding (her husband had lost pretty much the same amount - they sorta got closer in weights, as she had adapted some of his eating habits and he had adapted some of hers), I still fit into all my clothes.

Um, but tomorrow we're going to my parents' place to eat sufganiyot (think doughnuts, only without the holes inside, and softer, and with very thin sugar powder on top, and with yummy fillings inside), which are one of Hanukkah's traditional foods, so that may change.

Which brings me to the very reason I poked my head in here in the first place - happy Hanukkah, all of those who celebrate it! And lots of wavings and I-miss-you-guys to all y'all!

Sorry, it's true. Oops... Happy Hanukkah!
