"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I've nearly gotten everything done today that I needed to get done, or at least started it (filing) or nearly finished it (Christmas shopping).

Now I need to write. But I don't wanna. I know I have some motivation around here somewhere, but I can't find it.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Hec and his achy muscles and feverish forehead are crashed in Emmett's room;

Misinformation! I was actually out on Haight Street trying to shake the cabin fever you get when you're sick.

Now home and making hot and sour soup. We're introducing Matilda to Toy Story.

...and wow does this look primitive compared to Wall-E and Up.

Fortunately the story holds up.

Unfortunately it's not like going back and discovering the richness of Snow White's animation.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

That was the first thing I noticed when I rewatched it recently too. For its time, it was revolutionary, but Pixar's been hurt harder by Moore's Law than any other animation studio I can think of.

Dh is on a call that is going to last forever. but mostly he is on it to be there - just in case. So he is giving a guitar lesson at the same time.

Today was the home tour. I was out when it just poured. ah well. since the home tour is my neighborhood home tour , it was like a big moving party

Love the stained glass!

Dylan on skates is too adorable. I am jealous of the Wollman skating. What a beautiful spot that is. My mom is in New York right now and I told her to be sure to go by that rink as it's so pretty.

We are purging and nesting, listening to Christmas music, and baking chocolate chip cookies. Not a bad way to spend a rainy Saturday.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

It's snowing. Bah.

I should have mentioned - the rink we were at is the Wollman Rink in Prospect Park, not Central. (The one in Central Park is also very pretty, but admission to skate there is in the double-digits because it's owned by Donald Trump.)

[eta: Oh, and the rest of the skating pics on there are from Pentagon Row in DC over Thanksgiving. Only the video is from NYC.]

Ah, I didn't realize there were 2. Yes, I sent her to the one in Central Park.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I put my little tree up [link] , and am watching White Christmas. Good times. I have a ton of lights, and am trying to decide if I should try to put them in my windows, or if that's just Too Much....
