Always Anti-fascist!

wow, I'm devastatingly late for my crime spree then. Although I have been occasionally disturbed by my surface similarities to, say, Robert Bardo. We're both from Arizona, iffy job and romantic histories, and we both have a stable of famous strangers we love SO MUCH. Only I'm not the angry kind of crazy, and my parents didn't beat me up. And I think everyone here could take me, too, of course.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Why do Craigslist people suck so much?

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Why do Craigslist people suck so much?

Too much exposure to these?

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Not getting back, usually. This guy called and left a message. I called him back. He asked if he could call me back around 1 or 1:30. Here I sit.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

I do think that we as a society need to do much much more to reinforce the recognition that other people exist.

I agree with this in an overall way.

But w/r/t the dude who shot up the gym -- he had problems that were so severe and so entrenched that being recognized in a friendly interpersonal way would not have helped. At all.

t edit And I realize that you weren't prescribing that as what could have fixed this dude. I totally get that.

Ok, the city didn't take my recycling. WTF? Is it just because I don't have a yellow bucket? The hell? I haven't had a chance to get one yet!!!1

No they are supposed to take the recycling in anything. I just put mine out in an old blue tub. They may be late. They didn't pick up my trash until the mid-late afternoon yesterday. Did they pick up everyone else's?

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Oh yeah, I didn't mean to sound like all he needed was a friendly hello.

The craigslist thing is a low-level version of what Burrell said.

I do think that we as a society need to do much much more to reinforce the recognition that other people exist.

you know most people would not just leave someone they know hanging, but people on craigslist and freecycle do it ALL THE TIME. don't show up, don't return calls or emails - I think at the core it's because they don't fuly see the people at the other end that the are inconviencing as people - they don't know them, it's easy to just handwave it away.
