Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Bless my mother and sister. My mother loaded my sister up with sustenance, and my sister actually dragged it all from Jamaica. I didn't ask for rum, but I now have two bottles. Which is great, because I was all out, and eggnog season is here. And plantain tarts! My favourite pastry of them all. At least right now. I have a pile. And tamarind balls somewhere in that bag. I'm very happy, despite the headache.

And spending time with my sister wasn't bad either. Even if it was in LAX.

The feeling you get when your brain finally lets your heart get in its pants.

Your mom made sure you had two bottles of rum? ita's mom, for the win!

I didn't dare ask! I didn't want to sound like a lush. But she made my sister bring it just because.

That's my mom. She's been sending me overproof liquor since I started university.

Over 150 proof--over 75% alcohol. And she sent me some drinking stuff as well as the mixing stuff.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

Any rum cream, ita?

Gee I want to try rum cream.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

That reminds me - my parents had to replace their fridge recently, so they cleaned out the freezer. Tucked in the back was some cranberry liqueur mom made in the early 80s and some moonshine (rotgut swill, as they called it at the time) that my brother and his friends made out of lemons and who knows what else in the late 80s. Mom said the 'shine was smoother than many vodkas she's tried. Keeping it frozen for 20 years apparently helped, because from what I remember when it was fresh, not smooth.

Rum cream I still have. I only ran out of the hard stuff. I do do shots of the overproof recreationally, but many people don't like it. I can't drink OJ, but I can chug liquor.

My sister had me bring her dinner. Pescatarian or pork, no tuna. So I bought her a veggie sandwich, tomato mozzarella salad, and macaroni cheese. Guess who doesn't like salad or eat much dairy? Hmmph. I never think of ham as pork, she doesn't eat soy, so cheese! She has to stop watching TV or there'll be no food left for her to eat.
