That really is brilliant. I wish they had that for the trolleys here. My closest stop only gets 1/4 of the trolleys, but the one that they all stop isn't that far, so I wish I could know for sure which made the most sense.

Chapel Hill, NC. The University and the two towns got together several years ago and decided that parking was a big enough problem that it was worth their while to make the buses free. Ridership jumped 40% in the first year.
Of course, weekend and night service is pretty limited, but I think that's more a function of living in a relatively small community.

At my last gig they sponsored buses along one route so it cost us 25¢, and that route just happened to run from near home to work. I ended up using it a fair bit towards the end of the contract. Especially good on mornings after the ER.

Okay, someone help me out here: is there any downside to an Employee Stock Purchase Plan? You get company stock at a 15% discount of the lower of the closing market price of the first and last day of the six-month period. So if the stock has gone down and you sell on that last day, you make 15% regardless, right? And if it's gone up, you're going to make a lot more. It seems like a win-win. What am I not considering? Taxes? Taxes are screwy and confusing with stocks.
